Anyone tried Galio mid?

Only had the chance of playing him twice as a jungler with and my experience with him is really great. He's still all about getting to the enemy and landing a good taunt, but this time he's got more tools and wayyy better clearing speed (and less mana issues)

I'm going away for the weekend so i won't be able to play him for a few days, so i was curious if anyone played him mid so far, if so how is he? Did you try him full-AP? full-tank? I feel like the lack of MR to AP will hurt his damage output when he rushes a vs AP laners.
