Too many players are afraid to derank (Revert back to normals) They already are settled with hitting gold (Back to norms) Alot of trolls in bottom gold thanks to derank protection To add to the last one; they have a not caring mentality once they are settled in gold 5-3
This game really needs to bring in MMR rather than this silly promotion system so we can get games faster
Thrëat1 votesMMR is the only factor when it comes to finding matches in ranked. Being in Gold 5 means you have pretty much the same MMR as most Silver 2s to Gold 3s so you will get matched with that range. The only difference between Season 1 / Season 2's MMR system and now is the fact that the MMR number is hidden and we get a badge instead which shows the upper end of our rank for the season. I think before Gold started at like 1500 MMR. If someone had 1501 MMR they would be afraid to play because a single loss would put them into Silver tier rewards. Now it is possible to maintain being Gold 5 but have 1350 MMR which is around Silver 4.
