Zed winrate is 47% - A lesson to players who ignore the value of teamfights.

Zed is one of the safest mid laners in the game with great farming and harass, so why is his winrate so low? Because he's an AD assassin in the mid lane, a role meant to be filled by an AP mage, especially when the rest of your team lacks AP. In Silver 2, I still see people autolock Zed last pick when our entire team has 0 AP. I cannot tell you how many games I've lost because our Zed goes 5/0 in lane, then explodes in teamfights and we can't scratch the enemy jg or top laner because they stacked AR.

With a few exceptions, mid needs to be a mage, and top needs to be a tank or bruiser. Unless your team comp is already good enough, you should not be taking AD assassins when your team desperately needs tankiness or AP.
