Is Malzahar's tyranny in the mid lane finally over?

Malzahar:

Call of the Void (Q) AP ratio lowered from 80% to 65% Nether Grasp (R) cooldown increased from 120/100/80 to 140/110/80

Those are some pretty significant nerfs. For some reason though, Malzahar always manages to sneak his way back to OP pick/ban status so I doubt he will be gone for long(if at all).

Get rid of that shield passive.

Doesn't matter.

Riot has once again failed to understand that Malzahar is more than his identifying ult.

3 things

  1. His basic abilities are and always have been his bread and butter. This fact alone is why the ult CD nerf doesn't mean shit

  2. His current damage revolves around resetting E. In other words, 15% less AP scaling on Q? Whoop de doo.

  3. His shield is still intact. The toxic part of his kit that everyone complains about and allows people to easily pick up this immobile mage is still left intact.

People will still play him and people will still bitch about him.

Sadly no.

Ult CD nerfs doesnt matter when he can get up to 60% cdr on his ult easily, in fact due to that ults cannot be balanced on CDs anymore and his ult is fundamentally overpowered in combination with his passive.

He needs a proper gutting into a full rework, he shouldnt be allowed to be viable with this anti-interaction toxic kit.

Decent nerfs, would probably drop him back to a wr near 50%. He would still be a good pick for autofilled mid laners though
