Anyone been doing 3v3 Flex?

First, thank you Riot for 3v3 Flex! I have always been a huge Twisted Treeline fan and super excited to spam this queue.

My question is has anyone been seeing weird matches in 3v3 Flex queue just like I have been hearing about in 5v5 Flex?

I understand 3v3 is supposed to be loosely based on your season 6 3v3 rank. I have been duoing with a buddy, which we both on 3v3 teams together. His dynamic queue rank was plat 5, I was gold 3 at the end of the season. Our 3v3 teams were both low silver, but don't think we played enough games to get rewards. In the games we duoed together almost everyone in the game were plat or gold.

I then played 2 games solo and both games were free stomp wins since the enemy teams were mostly bronze new players. This has me worried that for some reason my mmr is much lower than my buddies. Although his dynamic queue mmr is higher, there is no reason for his 3v3 mmr to be higher than mine. I have also been performing better than him in every game, along with having more wins since I got 2 wins playing solo. Maybe this is just super random (hoping it is), but just trying to figure out why when I play alone the games are super hard stomps, but then when we play together the games are much more competitive and players individual ranks are much higher.

I guess it really doesn't matter that much just curious. Going to be sad to get placed bronze 4 or 5 just because stupid placement system. I know I can reach gold in 3v3 but its a lot more grinding/playing doing it starting in bronze rather than silver and a lot more annoying. Feel like their placement system needs some work as it seems in the past once your mmr is low it doesn't matter how many games you win your placement rank is still shit. And we have hardly any control over it..... I don't get to pick who I play against.... I have lots of 3s experience and have no problem playing other ranked 3s experienced players. But if the system just gives me new player free wins stomps that destroys my mmr there is nothing I can do except take the free worthless wins.

Guess we will see where I end up. Just curious what other players 3v3 Flex experience has been so far.
