A question about the new HUD

After the new HUD was introduced, there is something that I don't understand: where are the pings? I used to be able to warn my allies to when enemies were coming, or disappeared, or that I was coming. However, after the new HUD I see myself being forced to use V and then type on the chat why I am pinging. This is really annoying and wastes time.

you use pings with the G key. or what ever key you wish to rebind it to, and click or drag it to a direction you want (it brings the smart pings up). riot said or thought that many people used the "g" key already so they just removed it from the mini map. It is much quicker now but that should have been stated when introducing the new HUD.
