why doesnt duskblades passive just scale like thunderlords?

i mean instead of the missing hp% damage.

ad assassins target squishies. so making the passive a mix of level scaling flat damage, coupled with an ad scaling portion (10 per level + 30% ad) would make the passive basically work exactly the same as it does now (add some extra burst), and prevent possible abuse cases.

considering its really long cooldown it probably would also work better as an active. which is less difficult to balance if it doesnt scale with % damage.

right now as an active this would make it easy to always trigger the effect when the enemy has already taken a lot of damage, and an execute is guaranteed. if it was flat damage it wouldnt be that much of an issue, when its triggered during a fight.

this would make the item more like a ludens echo for ad assassins than a dfg.

They purposefully made it a passive so that assassins have to fully commit to the kill or it's wasted.

fine add a threshold to have it trigger below 40% health, and still make it a flat value.

Still no. The way it is now, you can screw it up. That's a good thing. Making it super reliable and hard to waste might as well make it an active.

the way now an assassin paired with an adc will be able to blow up a a tank like hes nothing.

the problem is that the item doesnt just scale with the assassins damage, but with every other source of damage.
