Monsters' aggro is ridiculous

I just had a game where I invaded the enemy blue, took the buff and left the two little ones. After that, since enemy team is already searching for me, I decide to recall there http://i.imgur.com/tweBcYl.jpg Which is a place people usually won't think of, relatively safe spot. However, those two little blue son of b****** followed me all the way to here http://i.imgur.com/JbsorQi.jpg That was at least 5 seconds, like wtf that's totally out of blue buff territory. And it took them another 5 seconds walking back to original position After that, of course, my location was sold out by them, since the enemy team saw them moving. and I was caught at the last second of recalling.

I don't think that's reasonable, it gives the enemy team at least 10 seconds after you finished buff to know your direction. And you can't recall at the first 5 seconds because those edgy golems still think you are within their territory and will punch their little fist at you.

the small ones are worth 60% of the xp/gold, why leave them?

So the blue buff doesn't respawn and it leaves the enemy team without their blue buff for a longer time.

but if you kill it, you have the timer, can ward ~30 secs till spawn and gank when they try to take it.

If they are stacking Devourer simply delaying the clear may well be worth it I guess, going for kills in enemy jungle is always risky.

if they are going devourer right now, they're probobly going to lose anyway. and everything worth anything in this game is a risk of some sort.

Not entirely true depending on the ELO and champion. Yi, Nocturne, Kayle and Warwick are some junglers that still rely on Devourer.

imo warrior is better on both yi and noc atm, easier to snowball with and more efficient when ganking for quite some time.

I can definitely see that, but I rarely see those two using Warrior. IMO, Devourer pays off better in the long run because both can build around it, while the opponent will have a harder time building against it. Dueling is important for both champions and Sated (accompanied by BotRK/Cleaver/etc) makes them difficult to 1v1.

At the same time, if you can't punish them early or make them work for the stacks, then their lategame is far more effective than with Warrior. That's simply my observation, but it's also probably indicative of being in an average ELO.

also, knowing when they're taking a buff is knowing when they are not in the lane you're ganking.

It depends on the game. Some games it will be better to deny their blue buff, other games it will be better to have the timer. So if they have a ziggs mid, you better deny that blue buff. If they're running kat mid and lee sin jungle, i dont think they'd miss it too much. Also, if they have a devourer jungle you would want to deny it

So the blue buff doesn't respawn and it leaves the enemy team without their blue buff for a longer time.

which isn't that good cause if you clear the little ones you know when the buff will respawn so you can steal it another time.

Pretty sure their aggro is tied to the large one, so when he is alive their aggro range is much shorter. I've noticed the same thing, try to walk away and they follow you FOREVER

It's unreasonable to steal a damn buff so easily just by picking a bull**** like warwick and neuter someone with a slow first clear that much more.

Dude ww's first clear is slow af, as a ww player I can tell you this. He is able to clear the first wave with full health, yes, but that is fuking slow as hell, especially after that w nerf.

RIp WW's W. (no W puns intended in this making)

yeah that patience bar allows the monster to go way far, it helps if you play skaner, you can start gromp without leash, and drag it till you're in the spire area

DeynaTaggerung1 votes

It's because the aggro is coded onto the big one, so when the smaller ones are left alive they'll follow you much further...

I have seen minions literally change lanes to push other lanes from following. I have also seen minions take a detour through the jungle if they get blocked off enough (not entirely) due to poor pathfinding.

When I have cinderhulk and smite Gromp as Zac, I can't do this ever. The lil buggers attack me the entire time I'm running away until they kill themselves.

I've had some really weird and annoying experiences with jungler monster aggro lately as well. This is especially annoying when you're either low hp and the enemy tries to finish you off, while you've got some crazy jungle monsters behind you which costs you the 20hp you maybe would've escaped this. Jungle monsters and creeps shouldn't follow you this far out of their territory, since it feels pretty unpredictable how they act sometimes. Some minions follow you up to drake or blue buff and monsters try to chase you down even though you're already at your tower. This has gotten worse since the aggro changes on monsters. It wasn't good before either, but it was alot easier to predict when they'll stop following you. Minions always had this problem with really weird pathfinding and hour long aggro on you.
