Why does Morello have Grievous Wounds?

I'm not saying Morello having GW makes it OP or anything, but it feels like such a misplaced stat. It really feels like its just a random extra stat thrown onto Morello. I feel like its 1% of the time that someone would go out of there way to get Morello just for the GW. It always feels like Morello was an item you were going to buy anyway and GW is just a situational bonus.

GW on Morello is just an added bonus for an item you were going to build to begin with. The GW on Morellos is pretty bad anyway considering it only kicks in at 35% HP. Speaking of which, why does a finished item have worse conditions than an 800g Executioners?

Tbh I don't know if I would like to see GW removed from Morello. Maybe they could change it so it activates at a higher percentage HP, but cut down the duration

item 3165 is 2.9k gold and requires enemy to be below 35% health item 3123 is 800 gold and applies on every. single. instance. of. physical. damage.

They seriously need to scrap the 35% bullshit and maybe I'd consider building it when my team decides that Darius, whom I can kite infinitely, is a bigger threat than Soraka and warrants their ban.

item 3165 scales with abiliites better and gives a lot more stats. great mage item that does a whole fucking lot more than grievous wounds. Mages shouldn't need the grievous wounds unless they've committed enough damage to get the opponent low. You should be using this on multiple opponents as well. Because mage

item 3123 builds into some not very impressive penetration item. Not a standard build item and far less flexible.

There is nothing wrong with this. Morellonomicon has grievous wounds just to stop the bullshit gotcha moments.

Yes, but thats my point. Its extremely rare for someone to build Morello for the GW. People build Morello for the stats and GW is just a random stuck on bonus

People don't build it for that because its so standard. Some just build it because it gets the job done, not even for the AP technically

How I see Morellos is so if you 1v1 burst an ADC with Bloodthister, for example, and they somehow survive with 200 hp, the ADC won't automatically win the fight because of sustain + DPS. Yeah, they are still going to sustain some, but not as much as they would've before, so it gives you a fighting chance to finish them off still. Or say you burst and Soraka ults, it won't heal as much so again, you have a better chance to finish them.

It doesn't give you a free kill, you still need to play around their DPS, but you at least have a chance to win the fight.
