Who asked for the Nidalee buffs?

Everyone knows how oppressive her early game is, and every pro knows how annoying she is to deal with, thus why she was first picked for so long, and the viewers know how boring it is to see Nidalee played in every game.

So I just have to ask... why the buffs? Some context at least?

It's more of a nerf. They got rid of her aa reset when transforming to slow down her early clear because almost everyone goes ad reds and machete. The fluidity between her two forms is really important both thematically and gameplay wise so honestly I'm more disappointed than anything else. They put some numbers back into early game human/cougar Q, but i feel it will not be worth it if she becomes clunky.

It seems rito believes nid's gank potential is too reliable. If a nidalee player has a lot of experience with the champion rarely will they need to hit her spear to get kills. Because of this rito is reverting power from her ganks by nerfing dps on auto attacks and rewarding players who are good at aiming the spear (or the trap lol). If this is the route riot is going I wouldn't mind if they buffed the trap radius and lowered its arm time.

tldr nerf to experienced/mechanical nidalee and jungle clear speed, buff to precision/accurate nidalee

You don't know much about Nidalee, do you?

The upcoming changes are a nerf. Q buffs don't offset the aa reset nerfs. Loss of resets will reduce her clear speed by quite a lot. If Nidalee cannot clear fast then she is outshined by most other junglers. The reason she dominated was not because she was oppressively powerful, had insane damage, an overloaded kit or w.e, it was because she had the ability to outlevel EVERYONE in the game. Champions scale off of Items and levels. If you have more items then you're stronger. If you have more levels then you're stronger. Nidalee would get more levels by de-fault as she could outclear and outroam every other jungler. When you can outclear and outroam doors open for you. Nidalee's ability to do this made her strong. If she cannot clear fast then she's on the same playing field as every other jungler. On an even playing field she isn't really that strong. Hence why you don't see her top/mid anymore - her base stats are garbage and her ability damage isn't all that impressive. Her strength was that she was always playing the game from ahead - these changes completely remove that ability, while making her feel clunky and removing a lot of the things that contributed to her 'fun', 'challenging', 'rewarding' and 'complex' feel.

No, i don't know too much about Nidalee. I'll give you that.

I'm just concerned for the pro scene more than actually finding her in one of my games. it's not too much fun to see her all the time.

But thank you for the context. This is the type of answer that I wanted. Thank you!
