Old Malzahar was problematic too, albeit to nowhere near the extent current Malzahar is. Even if he got un-reworked, he'd probably need an additional rework after that — with individualized focus on him, and Riot maybe actually listening to its players on how to not utterly fucking break the champion. Hope springs eternal, right?
