You had one job: the assassin meta run amok.
This is one that I've been stewing in for a while. Another anvil to drop, another axe to grind, and I've brought it up more often than I should have to.
I had yet another game where the entire team decides to go all damage/assassin to the exclusion of absolutely everything else, to the point where even slows are a valuable commodity. This is why I'm a support main; I see these things. The support, in a nutshell, does everything the rest of the team doesn't. In the worst-case scenario, this means the support is juggling at least thirteen jobs, possibly more, including warding, providing utility, ward busting, setting up kills, healing, shielding, and defending lanes. Their workload increases the more specialized the rest of the team is, and if the team is solely specialized in damage and nothing else, they better do that one thing extremely well, and the support needs to shine a hell of a lot brighter to compensate.
The problem comes when the guy who can only do damage can't do even that. I don't tolerate that, and I shouldn't tolerate it. The assassin should not do less damage than the one class that doesn't build any kind of damage item. It invalidates their only reason for existing. What's more, if one person has all the utility and crowd control to pin the enemy in one spot and prevent them from escaping, don't ignore them, take advantage of everything they set up, and don't run ahead of them to flash ult ignite the enemy under the turret, because god forbid you get the assist instead of the kill.
I don't like constantly bringing this up, but I'm seeing the in-game community, in my personal experience, grow ever more short-sighted, blind to their own weaknesses and everything else around them, only to stand in the ashen crater at the end of the day and wonder what went wrong despite the thousands of signposts they brazenly ignored.
