Matchmaking will be easier and better in true solo queue, that's not even up for debate.

Also, if you're a person who likes playing solo, then it's the queue that actually lets you play against solo players. No jungle camping your lane because you're against their duo, no laning against premade bot lanes, no having to play with premade bot lanes...

So people have a problem with duo, trios, etc in dynamic queue?

It's just a preference to not deal with the complications that multiqueues add to the match.

Personally, as someone who likes playing bot lane and plays solo a lot, I'm very excited about not having to play against premade lanes soon (TM).

No more large MMR splits to deal with either, so less incentive to boost players, etc.

Well, they atm blame their bad performance on premades. They hope when its solo queue, that they will suddenly get skill and climb out of bronze/silver.

So much this

Exactly how I feel, whether your pre-made or not you should be able to communicate well, and jg camping because of duo? solo or duo you should know how to deal with someone camping you.

Well, they atm blame their bad performance on premades. They hope when its solo queue, that they will suddenly get skill and climb out of bronze/silver.

Only partly this. Group queue immediately creates a disadvantage in games for everyone not part of the premade. Not because of the group itself are somehow "more skilled" and then matched with "lessers" but because more often than not the group is also using some form of voice communication which greatly increases their coordination vs. others who are simply on their own. That coupled with the fact that group Q reduces the likelihood of you having a troll or an AFK on your team (unless its you >.<) means you have immediately created an unfair environment for a ranked system.

Before while people would still QQ about like duo bot in ranked, for the most part people just sucked it up. Today you often get grouped with 3,4,and 5 group premades. Riot initially released data (here: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/XvqbAgrF-letos-talk-about-dynamic-queues-and-ranked-play)

Their numbers clearly state that only 83.5% of games with 4 and 5's group queues are matched against equal sizes. So simple math tells you 16.5% of the time these premades are matched in an advantageous scenario.

Riot also mentioned that 92.8% of games are set up to match equal MMR. So again 7.2% of games are not balanced matches. One team has an advantage larger than Riots degree of acceptance.

What this means for the traditional solo Q player today is this...

  1. It means you have roughly a 16% chance of getting matched against a premade group when your team is either all random or has a smaller premade group. This is the main kicker. By not playing in a group 16% of your games, you are starting with a disadvantage.

  2. As mentioned above group q when coupled with some form of instant voice communication provides a significant advantage in game. Something that "skill difference" can rarely compensate for.

In summary it comes down to this... A pretty common saying is in 40% of your games you are going to absolutely lose and there is nothing you can do to change that. In 40% of your games you are going to win. Someone on your team is going to get ahead and push to victory and the last 20% of your games are games you can influence to help determine the outcome.

Because of dynamic group Q as a solo queue player its now more like this.

50% of your games you are going to lose, 30% of your games you are going to win, and 20% of your games, you can influence the outcome.

Meanwhile for group Q its... 30% lose, 50% win, 20% you influence.....

So why does all this matter? Why do people like myself want SoloQ back? Well the answer is pretty simple. One ranked is summarized like this... It takes 1 player to lose and it takes 5 to win. Meaning it only takes 1 teammate to do poorly for your team to eventually lose, but it will always take 5 to win. So group Q provides a significant advantage that you can either punish a weak player to get that lead, or that by queuing as a group, you reduce the chances of you having such a person on your team.

When you are ultimately judged as an entire team, its extremely easy to get frustrated when a person is doing poorly or when you find out your team didn't even have a fair chance of winning to begin with.

Now in the end all of this is just math and things would eventually balance out, but the sheer number of ranked games you would have to play is insane. Easily 100+. 100 was the number before dynamic q. I honestly would bet its closer to 200. at 40 minute games that' s roughly 134 hours of playing. No one would think this is a healthy number of hours just to compensate for the systems design.
