Why is sword of the occult undertuned compared to Mejais?

Mejais soulstealer grants 435g stats, while SotO grants 360g worth stats. this also means that you have to sit on more stacks of SotO for it to be worth, than you need for mejais. There doesn't seem to be any reason to this? fix please.

Edit: Made a mistake, Mejais is actually 35g more expensive. SotO still 40g too expensive though, and also the stacks are worth slightly less than mejais stacks. Mejais at 19 stacks is as gold efficient as SotO at 20 stacks - the passive.

the real interessting Question would be why those items exist in the first place. In the sucess-case they just promote Snowballing (as well as playing really save and risk-free), which is a rather unhealthy thing...and in a case of no-success they are just useless and inefficient. So I don´t think they should exist at all, they don´t offer anything healthy for the game.

What are you talking about!!

They promote Challenger smurf Nidalee players to come and ROFLSTOMP my bronze games! This is essential for the survival of LoL!

Or really safe ziggs players to just roflstomp everyone by picking up stacks without ever being in danger xD ?

not to mention that lux is probably the Champ that builds mejais the most.

well that is probably true (or actually the way certain ap supports utilize mejais is actually pretty healthy), but it still doesn't make any sense for one of them to be statistically inferior to the other?

The only reason mejais is "good" is because you can buy it on supports and just get slow but easy stacks

well no stacking item is ever good, unless you're a really safe janna player, then mejais is pretty cool. I was just wondering why one of them was undertuned compared to the other? seems dumb that mejais is better than SotO even though they cost the same?

The thing is youre comparing them where one is better than the other, when overall neither is really "good."

It's like comparing Hitler to the Anti-Christ, yeah one isn't as bad as the other but they both suck

Marilyn manson isn't that bad ;) but anyhow your statement is redundant o.O both items are situationally good, and even if they werent, seeing as they're basically ad and ap of the same item, with the same cost, there is no reason for one being better than the other, and thus it should be changed. no matter whether you like the items or not o.O

Because champions naturally gain AD but not AP.

How does that relate to getting value for your money? 10 AD costs 360g, 20AP costs 435g? Has nothing to do with what you're talking about o.O In fact it's probably because AD got cheaper recently, without SotO getting to reflect that, which is a totally different matter o.o

Occult used to be more efficient but they changed the value of ad and as while leaving occult unchanged.
