I'm curious. How do you name your runes and masteries?

Mine are all over the place and I can't seem to find a consistent naming pattern to work. For the most part runes are "adc" "ap" "jungle" etc. Masteries kinda follow the same but its still messy.

well what more would you name them. You just name them for who they are meant to be used with and if you have multiple of those you just mention what is different between them. Like "ADC + CDR" and "ADC + Scaling MR" and "ADC + Flat MR". If you use the same runes for every ADC page except blues then just naming it like that will tell you it's an ADC page and what is different about it.

There is no need to create fancy names to any mastery or rune page, just something short and easy to understand is the best approach in my opinion

For runes, as I just have the two standard: AD page & AP page

For my masteries it's a mix between role and champion names, depending on how often I play said champion, or how generalized I want to make it

My masteries are just named by the number of points. 0-18-12, 12-18-0, 0-12-18, etc.

I tried naming them by role, then by type of champion, but neither worked. As of this pre-season, completely different champions like Xerath and Talon use almost the same mastery page. Different junglers use completely different mastery pages. So on.

So I just have these templates and I change a mastery or two before every game depending on the champion I'm playing.

I started toying with that. something like 12/18/0 TLD (thunderlords)

My runes are a bit messy - I have six pages and most of them are dedicated to the jungle cos it's super specific. Masteries however are super duper organised. I have 16 pages which is too much to type out but feel free to take a look here:

I really like how they're organised, it's super clear and understandable for me.

Yea thats a nice setup. I might try that.

Runes are consistent and specifically labeled based on what they contain, masteries are often a pun for what champion they're for

Rune pages as a rule are named by the stats they provide in Red/Yellow/Blue/Quint order. For Example: Ap/AR/MR/AP. If i have room, I will give the page a short nickname either before or after this stat breakdown.

Of course, there are exceptions that prove the rule: My support runes are "AD Caster Support" "Tank Support" & "AP Support." I have a runepage that's just for Kayle that's just named "Kayle." I have a runepage for Jungle Morg (R.I.P. Spellvamp working with smite) that I don't have the heart to take apart and turn into something else just yet. I have a jungler page that I just call "Mix-up Jungle" because it provides a bunch of different stats in a sort of hodge-podge that's tough to succinctly nail down into a name otherwise.

I have 10 mastery pages set up in every possible 18-12 combination (doubling up on any pages that use the ferocity tree, one for AP, one for AD). Those are named X/X/X as appropriate. Typically, I will quickly review my masteries during the lobby and make any small, champion-specific changes to a page that I feel are necessary. After that, I have a few other mastery pages that are specific to champion builds I commonly play, and a couple for support.

My pages are named after the old rune names (such as Desolation/Focus/Alacrity) based on the runes used in the page and who they should be used on.

I have names like General AD (regular ad, mr and armor), general ap (same but with ap), ad + attack speed, Tank Support, Caster Support, etc. My naming scheme is pretty much just what I would normally use that page for.

Except one page called Jungle Diana, which I have with ap, mr, armor and attack speed.

I name all my Rune and Mastery pages are named with either lines from a champion's VO or dumb references.

I like to use a base name for similar setups and then a little tag to specify what's different about that one. So like AP with health, AP with armor, AP with MR, tanky AP, AP with mana. Or something like that. Then have similar setups for AD and for hybrid.
