No, I don't mean the active... I just mean as an AP item with 120-150 AP and nothing else. I heard some talk about needed another AP option without some stupid passive/active. (That and the pentakill song would finally make sense to new players.)

already fills the raw AP slot at 162 AP by itself and also amplifies the AP of all other sources.
The change to reduce flat AP levels was made because AP mages were one shotting tanks when ahead, which Riot and the playerbase did not like. The current system still provides more than enough to burst a squishy going overboard and deleting tanks as well.
