@ RIOT about the ranked queue Direction
So, I have a ton of thoughts on ranked queue solo/duo etc. but I really want to clarify one thing:
You said you were looking at having two different ways to rank up: Solo/Duo and Dynamic, with their own different tiers and even names (bronze and copper for example). Based on what I heard/read, you also said that whether you queued up as solo/duo or dynamic, you still might face off against people from either queue. Is that correct?
To restate: If I queue up as a solo/duo, will I still be placed against people who queue up in dynamic?
If the answer is yes, then I really don't see the point of having the two different queues. If you are going to have 2 different queues, then keep them separate. Otherwise, I feel like you guys are just trying to hard to please and really "pull the wool over" the eyes of the solo/duo player.
Honestly, if you want two Queues, I would leave it as Dynamic or solo. You are either playing by yourself or with friends, so leave it at that.
The choice to keep ranked only solo or duo in master/challenger I think is a great decision. I can imagine that queue times are rough enough as is without having to try and match 3's with 3's and 5's with 5's etc. And at a higher skill level, communication I think goes a lot farther. Where as down here in Silver (and I would imagine even Gold) I think I have lost more games as a trio than as a duo simply because the game will match me with other trios (fair fight) or raise our teams effective MMR way too high so that 2 of 3 lanes always get curb stomped.
Honestly, I just want to have a discussion about this stuff with a RIOTer at some point. Its hard to type all of this stuff and stay on point with no flow of conversation :P
RITO PLS!?
