Kog'Maw Patch: Poor execution, wrong direction.

Hello! A while ago, I had asked Riot if Kog'Maw would ever be addressed about his state at the time; @RiotRepertoir said they would look into him at a later date and possibly update us on it.

At the time, Kog'Maw had the worst early game of the marksman, and his late game was nothing close to on-par to other late game hyper carries like Vayne Jinx

His scaling wasn't built around being a hybrid (Still isn't), he relies too heavily on two items (Still does item 3085 item 3124 ), but now he relies on one ability throughout the entire game (Which is REALLY unhealthy).

Now, there's more of a problem with KogMaw than there was to start. Putting his passive attack speed bonus on his W negated all need to level up his other two abilities. It DID help his early game, but didn't address any of his actual problems without creating more. His kit is now very unhealthy, Riot.

To state, I believe that putting the passive AS bonus back on his Q gives the KogMaw players a need to choose between an early game advantage (Q-W mix) and earlier power spikes (W). If you want to aid the little Koggles in both early and late game, give him actual hybrid (AD/AP) ratios on his W while keeping both ratios at a low scaling, or slightly increase the base %HP damage at earlier levels that then evens out to live at max rank, increasing his AP ratio at higher ranks.

While the dependancy on item 3085 item 3124 might not change much, adding an AD ratio on his W will allow for more diverse build paths that give KogMaw more choice to his play style and what he gives for the team. Picking between an on-hit hybrid build, making him squishy with a bit more punch to him, or a tank-ier build path that allows him to dish out weaker sustained damage while staying alive for longer.

While I have NO idea how to fix AP Kog'Maw while allowing his current kit to stay how it is, I still feel that what was stated above might make him a bit more healthier than he is (and was) now.

I think Riot needs to envision Kog'maw again.

He really isn't a hypercarry. He has all the weaknesses of a late-game carry yet his actual power peak is weaker than many ADCs that also have a decent early-mid to go along with their late-game power.

Riot needs to see what they can do with Kog'maw. An ADC that survives early game by being a semi-caster, then transitions into an autoattacking monster mid-late? Or an ADC that shines the most early-mid due to sheer base damage output, and then falls off late-game because he scales less and couldn't really compete against other ADCs?
