Since summoners are gone, minions need new lore

With all of this "no summoner" lore coming out, one of the most important things in the game now make no sense to exist....

MINIONS!!

Originally, they are puppets controlled by weaker summoners to train them before they command champions, but now they do not exist!

Are these minions still puppets controlled by "summoners?" Are they a construct created by some hextech engineers? Or are they two living tribes of creatures in an endless war against one another????

Riot, we need to know!!!! Give minions the lore that they deserve!!!

from what we know they are forced on the map against their will and use what little power they have left to creepblock the heck out of players to at least not go down without some protest...

though ofc that map doesn´t exist and they are only gameplay-tools without any story whatsoever as Riot obviously doesn´t do that kind of stuff anymore.

An ancient race of warrior midgets, cursed to forever traverse the lanes of the rift..

Season 1: Summoners Fearsome warriors from different planes controlled by Summoners were called Champions Minions were just puppets controlled by the lower class Summoners for practice The reason they fought was to decide major laws on the Fields of Justice!

Season 6: Players, not summoners, control fearsome warriors from different planes with no real history randomly fight each other in this gladiatorial arena just for shits and giggles.

So why does Nocturne exist? Why can you hear Sona ? Who's trying to contain Brand ? Why does Olaf say "I'm going"? Is he just mental? His entire purpose is to fight for justice Varus , the hell is here for fighting Garen , JarvanIV, XinZhao ? Why does Swain and Darius waste their time here?

"Lore that actually ties into it's game? What is this nonsense!? Here at Riot games we take lore that's cool and interesting like that and shit on it, Garen-teed" -Riot games

I like the endless war idea

I think summoners still exist but the Institute of War does not. This would mean weak summoners are still employable (or they might find themselves replaced by some hextech automation from Piltavor with help from Heimerdinger and possibly Ziggs ...siege engines maybe...) I would like to see One minion stand too close to an exploding Nexus and Become a champion. Name: Winion Height: X2 of regular minion (slightly bigger then Yordle size) Role: Support main Story: After a horrible ACE at the enemy nexus the enemy team ran strait for his home base thinking they killed all the minions. Smugly leaving one behind as, "what could he possibly do?" Winion, then minion, walked stalwart into their base and proceeded to smash at the nexus. By the time the next swarm arrived and before his last ounce of health was taken from him, he gave the last blow to the doomed Nexus. Needless to say the summoners controlling the enemy team payed a heavy price for their bronze 5 mistake. The explosion was grand and left him sentient, not vanishing with his fellow minions. Days would go by as he waited alone wandering Summoners Rift until a new match started. When the next match was up, he simply walked around aimlessly as both sides would attack him, so he hid. When he was finally found neither side could claim him and in a very Very rare case, the match was halted to determine what this absurd anomaly was. It was then decided since he was in fact sentient and capable to survive on his own he should be removed and studied further. None were more interested then Heimerdinger who graciously allowed him to stay at his home after the match as an assistant so long as he shared his findings. As Heimerdinger's assistant, he would be the first to test the latest equipment such as Winion's Axe, Wand and Book, Souped up Siege Engine, and translator communicator that helps Winion speak to other minions as well as the occasional animals and monsters that Heimerdinger might have in his lab. Winion became something of a showcase in Brandle City. With visiters coming far and wide to view the strange site of a minion outside of the Fields of Justice. The attention was good for him as he learned to interact in a social manner but a bit bothersome to Heimerdinger as it interrupted his studies, but he would bare this for Winions sake so Winion could learn what it means to socialize and be a member of society. Desiring to repay the Yordle community for its kindness he has joined Heimerdinger in the League as a champion for Brandle City with his master's inventions in hand. Passive: Remember! Winion has been blasted by towers and smashing on the Nexus and Inhibitors countless times. Sharing his wisdom, he gives his fellow champions around him 2% endurance and damage against objectives that are near him.

Q: Toys in the Attic! Winion switches from melee to wand and book which will scale respectively from (X AD) for melee and (X AP) for wand and book. Enemy champions attacked by Winion are taunted towards him for (X) seconds and can not be taunted again with the same type of attack in a row. (cool down 15 Seconds)

W: Come Together! Winion can either inspire his fellow minions or convert enemy minions permanently. When activated Allied minions gain (X) times their stats which will swarm an enemy champ for (X) seconds. Permanently convert enemy minions that are targeted will have half the stats, and worth half the gold when slain by the enemy, who will swarm an enemy champ for 2 seconds. (for each enemy minion converted by the activation of that spell gain 1 gold and share with champions in range) (cool down 20 Seconds)

E: Back in the Saddle! Winion Summons a souped up Siege Engine with bucket seat that one allied champion can choose to ride in by clicking the seat. Siege Engine Winion gains 10% speed boost that degrades over (X) seconds and launches cannon balls for (X) dmg plus (X AP) which slows enemies by (X%). The ability ends after (X) seconds of driving off. (Allied Champions can attack from bucket seat) (20 second cool down)

R: Sweet Emotion! Winion Inspires ALL allied lane minions to be super charged Minions that gain X% stats plus X speed) for (X) seconds that will redirect focus to the closest enemy Champion or objective that comes into view. This can also be done to converted minions.

Joke (near minions): Winion will martch back and forth like a regular minion wile squeaking something similar to hut 2 3 4. Joke (Winion pickets with a large sign that says, "Save the Minions" marching back and forth. Taunt: Winion points and makes a squeaky laugh at his enemy wile holding his stomach. Dance: Winion starts squeaking Sweet Emotion into his wand wile grooving with his music.

#Summoner's Rift does not exist.

Neither do minions.

They don't need lore.

They are giant chunks of impassible brick wall in disguise.

qetzel11/27/2015, 6:21:24 PM2 votes

They don't really. The new lore doesn't have any relation to the game now. Like it or lump it.

Ironclad Dragon11/28/2015, 8:24:18 AM2 votes

They could just not have any lore... yes, I already see the downvotes. But if the point was to free up the champions from the confines of the League, what's the point of further defining something that was just intentionally left behind... I liked the old lore, really did. But I also like this new direction a lot more...

Why this one doesn't have more upvotes?

po55511/28/2015, 7:01:02 PM2 votes

The lore I can think of right now is that from the magic extremely used in seasons before tencent the minions still have a lot of magical stored in the nexus so they kept on spawning, using the logic that gromp has, because group is a magically transformed frog with magic, so since the minions still see champions they just go over to fight.

ThePartyLeader11/28/2015, 8:39:20 PM2 votes

This all makes so much sense. I always wonder why people just needlessly tower dive in game and repeatedly die. It's how they were trained to play the game!

Myles JT11/27/2015, 6:50:36 PM2 votes

The lore and the game are no longer the same anymore, so they really don't.

Milodic Mellodi11/29/2015, 6:52:23 AM1 votes

Quite frankly, I'm still waiting for TristanaTristana to get her own lore. She's awesome enough to get it, it's like Trist is the Poppy of Lore (thank Nagakaboros she's also not the Poppy of ADCs that'd be pretty awful since I main Trist)

GenoXx11/28/2015, 2:40:06 AM1 votes

They don't need lore at al...ya know...because thats the game part of LoL? And the stated numerous times that the game and lore are seperate

The Ellimiist11/28/2015, 2:49:09 AM1 votes

If summoners are gone then why do a ton of voice lines still mention it and summoner spells are still called summoner spells? >.>

Really though at this point they should just announce lore is dead and gone. Now all champions are just some champions controlled by players in a game.

Yorukin11/28/2015, 4:26:03 AM1 votes

If they're going to get new lore, I'd like to see it alongside lore for Summoner's Rift. The League itself isn't exactly a thing lore-wise, and the battles that take place on the Rift (or any other map, for that matter) are pretty much imaginary. Summoner's Rift itself is really just a magical mountain place with the remnants of a Void Rift sitting around in there.

Mister Sunglow11/28/2015, 1:30:16 PM1 votes

Since when did Riot remove summoners? What have I missed...

GreenLore11/28/2015, 1:54:04 PM1 votes

Honestly that whole thing about summoners training with minions never made much sense to me. I mean are these summoners really so stupid that all they do with their minions is run in a straight line and blindly attack everything in their way? Are they ordered to do only that? Can't these minions just walk on their own?

RyzeRework11/28/2015, 2:02:12 PM1 votes

its 2 factions now it said when the new rift came out the stag and something else i forgot

layrit11/28/2015, 2:28:03 PM1 votes

We have the Sentinel at the lower left and the Scourge at the upper right that fight to destroy the Frozen Throne and the Tree of Life respectively...

Oh, its the wrong year, sorry, I thought we were in 2005, not 2015.
