(Crack knuckles)
Let's see what we have here.
That is the most neckbeard thing I have ever read...please...do not ever type such a thing again.
And it was a terrible build,
Which saw competitive use in the LCS and also saw a higher win rate in solo queue during its inception.
No, that's not the case, Evelynn was overpowered and rightfully received nerfs. Runeglaive was simply the trigger for them getting off their ass and finally nerfing. I say this as an Evelynn main for several years. They were right to nerf Evelynn and it was long time coming.
Okay and why?
One cannot simply state "she deserved the nerfs."
Let alone, your being a main of evelynn for years is irrelevant. No one cares. No one ever cares because it does not provide credence to any statement.
Evelynn does not over centralize the jungle. She wasn't pick or ban, that was Gragas. That was Lee Sin and Elise and several other champions.
Champions that tend to "deserve" nerfs in MOBA's are champions who heavily influence the match and in the case of Evelynn, such behavior was never observed.
When Evelynn was being used in the professional scene, the NA LCS did not pick her.
EU lcs saw her have a success rate of 47% which was lower than Gragas who was over 50%.
In terms of solo queue, her win rate was roughly 50%, in the middle, which was not the highest and this was with a low pick rate mind you, suggesting players who won with her were her mains.
This was not the same with champions such as Lee Sin who was picked over 5 times more than Eve.
It was actually 20 base damage at max level, where the scaling used to 15 per point it went down 10 per point.
I stated 10 primarily because I had been thinking of her base damage before the buff she received. My error.
You can skip Runeglaive if you conserve mana/use it more sparringly, the 150% mana regen in jungle and Hunter's Potion are more than adequate substitutes.... but trying to play non-Runeglaive Evelynn like Runeglaive Evelynn and expecting the same results is pure nonsense.
Hardly, my expectation is for a champ not to be pigeon holed into particular builds.
One of the benefits of playing Evelynn was her flexibility, being able to play her AP assassin, AS bruiser, tank, weird devourer builds.
By lowering her base damage on her Q and applying a mana increase on her W, they indirectly increased the amount of mana she uses to clear the jungle, and directly increased it for a gank.
These two changes made her more mana hungry than she was in the past when warrior's tended to be picked over magus.
That's the sacrifice you make in exchange for whatever other enchant you took (Ex: More survivability with Cinderhulk but slower clear)
Which is not something that junglers should have occur because the jungle necessitates constant use of abilities not only to clear it in a reasonable speed, but to avoid dying to jungle monsters.
As it stands, her early game jungling is in a very poor state.
No I am not. But you can pretend otherwise if you want.
I'll waggle my stache and cane at you then as it will have the same effectiveness.
And they'd be incorrect, but I actually have not seen other Diamond players complain about it... surely you can link to some of these supposed Diamonds complaining about Evelynn being too weak because "mana".
-
I didn't state evelynn was too weak due to mana. I stated her mana starvation was unacceptable because of how extreme it has become due to her reliance on runeglaive as an item.
-
They have complained, but of course, if you do not see it then it has not occurred.
That's not an ad hominem because it is not in lieu of an argument, I am rightly pointing out that you are lying and also trolling , with evidence to back-up my statements. That is pretty much as far removed from an ad hominem as you can get.
Except that it wasn't evidence as I clearly pointed out when lolking counted a match from 11 months ago as the last game I played with Evelynn.
Clearly, you would find this problematic if my complaint is being made today, meaning I have been active in her usage. That alone would been simply common sense on the reliability of your resource.
Even if we considered it "evidence" it would no denote the behavior of the player as the site provides stats. Trolls are individuals who act in ways to intenitonally annoy others, such as feeding. So you would need evidence of this behavior, which you cannot provide, which means you had no evidence.
Ergo, its an ad hominem, but I suppose if I cracked my knuckles at the keyboard I would have delusions as well.
Adapt or stay bronze is one of the fundamental principles of MOBA gameplay. So yes, blame the player making bad decisions instead of adapting.
One cannot blame a player for innate weaknesses of a champion, of which you have not refuted but agreed upon implicitly. You can try to twist things but it is quite clear.
Not an insult but rather relevant factors.
But pretend otherwise if you want, it doesn't bother me.
Actually it is an insult.
"Be silent, you are bronze"
"Adapt or stay bronze."
These are statements made to be insulting, they are not statements made on relevancy.
My suggestion is this common tip everyone knows when it comes to writing academically.
Read what you write as if it were addressed to yourself.
When did that happen? strawman much?
It is an implicit statement, not explicit.
"I am an eve main and have played her thousands of times before."
Not a strawman, its an observation.
People of actual authority don't make such statements.
All I can say is; You are exactly what your type is expected to be.
You mean, someone who helped raise a gaming community from grass roots, to a professional level featured EVO and MLG?
Silly me, what would I know about gaming as a whole?
