Patch 5.23 First Impressions

Ashe interaction with Hurricane fixed. She might actually be a viable utility pick now.

Unsure why Caitlyn is getting buffs.

Early-game Culling nerfs on Lucian = good.

Miss Fortune W nerf = good.

Rofl Morde changes.

Quinn now definitely best in the jungle.

Obese Zed buffs, but buffs tied heavily with skill. Good Zeds will now dominate, bad Zeds won't see much of a change.

Tahm Kench attack range nerfs, God Bless.

Heavily disagree with Rift Herald nerfs. The game is now unequivocally about controlling the top side of the map at all points in the game.

"We want to disincentivize waiting around for an extra potion and get folks into lanes faster." That makes no sense. There was already a pretty heavy incentive to get to lane ASAP in the form of XP advantage and first dibs on wave control. There's no need to make it even more punishing for someone who just wants more sustain.

Minion changes, while well-intended, should not be added. Wave control goes out the window now. Split pushers become gods now. I understand that Riot wants to make it easier for the winning team to capitalise on their advantages and win, but this is borderline spoonfeeding.

Quinn actually can now go anywhere again, as the dueling power the blind gives allows her to go back into bot lane, where she now can fight higher range ADCs, or top lane, where she can be a dueling fighter

Thought she didn't have blind anymore?

They added it back as a pseudo-blind, like Graves smoke screen and Nocturne ult

With the state of the Warrior enchant coupled with her extreme map mobility, she's 100% best in the jungle. Putting her in a lane restricts her and strips away half of her identity.

How does it do either of those things? (especially considering that they designed the rework with mid lane in mind)

Having to attend to a single lane limits her roaming options unless she's ahead. If she's jungling, she can be roaming and doing her job 100% of the time. She's what we call a QRF, or Quick Reaction Force. Being a jungler facilitates that role and her kit the best. Add the fact that her Q now effectively stuns creeps in an AoE and you've got an excellent jungler on your hands. The only thing she's lacking is a lot of early game pressure.

Regarding the waiting - it was possible to w8 till the last moment and teleport to lane minion sometimes not loosing xp at all, or so little of it that it didn't matter for some champs that could farm safely (e. g. Jayce Ryze) .

Those minion changes look scary but it might not be that bad, too early to say anything.

Im loving the change to thunderlord's decree. Every 20s makes it such a nice fit with bard. The bard chime fix so you can start lane with 3 chimes again. So far liking it
