Rift Herald to become unequivocally the better neutral objective

It's already insanely more rewarding than trying to start a Dragon stack train (which would take 30 minutes from the time of first drake at the absolute minimum to complete). Rift Herald is already way better than stacking Dragons, especially with how easy it is to blast down the outer turrets if you have even a small lead or window of opportunity.

Next patch, Riot's planning on making the Rift Herald do less damage so that you won't have to recall after taking it.

???????????

On a side note, Baron is ridiculously easy to take now. I've seen 20- or 25-minute Barons in a vast majority of the games I've played so far that involved a Baron. Personally, I'd like to see the return of Baron as the Big Bad Buff that required significant setup and investment to take, not just a routine, "We're kind of ahead and have some map pressure and Baron's alive = free Baron."

Even when I play Rammus, Herald destroys my HP as if it were nothing.

The only reason he is doable is the 15% true damage per hit on the eye thing.... (I.e. second champ backstriking).... even with quick kills, a jungler can barely survive which means even the slightest hint of contesting means instant-wipe for the first team.

That's a good thing. An objective that yields incredibly high rewards should pose incredibly high risks---something that Baron Nashor fails to do at the moment, since he was calibrated for a slower meta where teams couldn't instantly burst him on spawn---and something that Riot is apparently looking to remove on the Rift Herald.

Dont downvote bomb me or anything, but I think Baron is more of a "Ace the enemy team, your reward is a buffthat helps you finish the game with a victory and punishes the enemy for dying to you in a teamfight." sort of objective. Again, it's a personal take on Baron.

I view it as "if you seriously let the enemy team have this for free because nobody bothered to ward, you better pray that none of your inhibs are exposed" buff.

Actually, According to Riot, Baron buff is intended to be a tie breaker. Hypothetical: If team A is in base but can't take the nexus turrets, and team B can't leave because they're defending nexus turrets, it results in a stale mate. Neither team can leave without giving up momentum. If team A gets baron, their minions will automatically push to the turrets. If team B gets Baron, their minions automatically push out of base.

That's the reason Riot changed Baron buff last season to amplify minions more instead of just being a stat buff - which made Baron a big player in team fights.

Come on. Give him a break. He's an EUW player, so it's very likely that English is not his first language.

No breaks. That's shit you learn in your first year of having English in school.

Still is shit that happens, having less "grip" and practice lets many errors slip away.

Also, if you put enough effort in it, 3th might be a 3rd said in Shakespearean

Remember that the mastery already got hotfixed, it only works on champion now.

...Tryn can't solo rift herald though. You can't really do it with 1 person.

Well Riot wants to make game play objective based so it doesn't really surprise me they are making objectives so strong. Remember when the Dragon changes first got released it was op for a while but they eventually toned it down to where it was still a good objective but wasn't an auto win for killing. I expect the Rift Harold to go the same way, they wanna see how good it can be as an objective without being a get this and win sort of thing. Its been a good addition so far since the only time you ever really saw any kind of objective contest has been Dragon 5 or Baron. Another early game objective to rival Dragon is in my opinion a good thing.

I'm calling the Rift Herald Harold from now on.

Rift Herald is too buff.

Rift herald is already the best thing you could get in a game. Oh and, like everything, Riot will eventually make it so that you can solo the rift herald pretty easily, Rift herald has arguable stronger bonuses than dragon and baron too, plus you can get to an inhibitor if left unchecked for 2 minutes. Pretty soon, people will realize it and start warding it as if it was baron's daddy, So it wouldn't be actually as easy to get.

who's gonna leave a team alone with their inhib fr 2 minutes

If the person with dooms eve is splitpushing alone, if the game is in Low ELO/Normals, youd be surprised how long the enemy team takes to respond.

Malzahar can solo both dragon and Herald at spawn (Duo Baron with someone beefy) I can confirm that towers fall very fast when an AD malz decides to "gank" your turrets.

Same here, Baron and Rift guardian needs buff.

For some reason, Riot is afraid of making any npc in the game threatening. Baron and Dragon are pushovers, turrets are a joke, even super minions are negligible to anyone with lifesteal. The only place you are allowed to take an ass-kicking is the jungle, if you are not one of the divinely ordained jungle champions.

I just get the feeling that if Rift Herald gets to be too strong, duo top and solo bot will become the meta, and the botlane island will become the norm... [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Went to help my mid take Herald yesterday as Garen, figured piece of cake as we both were starting to snowball very early into the game... Yeah, it raped us and then the enemy jungler just happen to be waltzing by and got a double kill, lol. That thing ain't no joke - you need some sustain against it.

rift herald isnt really worth it unless you can somehow rotate fast enough most likely with another m8 on skype or something. otherwise its really not worth it in comparison to actually pushing lanes, applying map/lane pressure, or of course just flat out taking a turret or 2 in the meantime. the buff is only better than dragon for the duration you have it

Transgressor1 votes

Appart from the fact that you can use Herald to push down 3 turrets in top/mid lane.

Yeah, herald sucks.
