The new Champion Select is just as much to blame as DQ.

Super long queue times? New champ select. Diamond 2's being matched against Challengers? New champ select. Autofill? New champ select. The only real issues with DQ itself are premades vs. non-premades and people being boosted by their friends to ranks they don't belong. Notice what pros are talking about when they complain about DQ? It's almost always those first 3 problems which are the fault of the new champion select.

And yet, I don't see anyone clamoring for the removal of the new champion select. It's all DQ, as if removing that and leaving the new champ select will magically fix everything. Newsflash: Queue times and bad matchmaking are the biggest problems facing ranked play right now and both of those problems are largely caused by the new champ select. You'd be far better off clamoring for a return to pick order than for the removal of DQ.

I just don't really give a shit one way or another. Dynamic Queue or Solo Queue, I'm gonna keep playing. Why? Because I happen to enjoy this game I can play whenever and for however many hours I want, for free. Any money I spend is purely optional. Or irresponsible decision-making by a younger me.

But back on topic, I just... I don't get why people are so up in arms about this? I mean hell, my win % is almost exactly what it was last season, and the season before that. The only difference is my obscene number of Kha'Zix games (and better winrate, yay balance changes) and the champions I play. I virtually always play solo, or I'm invited into a multi-man queue with people I can't communicate out-of-game with so the only difference is I know I'm not playing with asshats. And look at me, I'm still climbing via determination, enjoyment of a challenge with visceral reward, and just.. simply loving the game.

I could go into a huge rant trying to cover all my points and issues with how people have been reacting to this, starting with debating whether or not Riot actually lied about bringing solo queue back, but honestly? I'm not gonna bother. I'm just gonna enjoy this game and keep playing it. People say it's gonna die at this rate? I say I'll see 'em in Season 12.

it's not really a question of averages or win rate, but the quality of the games.

Queue times are not exclusively a by-product of champ select, but a combination of the premades + role selection.

The problem is finding the very specific roles that the premades are electing not to play, rather than simply grouping 5 people of approximately the same skill and complimentary roles, which would be much, much easier.
