If you have a 50% win rate, then you won't climb. That's intentional.
Nope, it is exactly the opposite, you don't know how the system work, LOL
The system is intentionally designed to make you climb if you can keep 50% win rate, even albeit slowly, because it gives you "free" losses that does not impact your rank (the protection they give you when you go up 1 division and the "free" losses in promo as long as you win it in the end)
In addiition to that, if the teams are evenly matched by MMR, you gain a pair of LP more in victory than the ones you lose in defeat
The problem is that in practice when you are in such a situation when you are some better then your actual rank, luck matters a lot, because some games are much more important than the others and get bad luck in those games can completely turn the tides, and it needs time to get to that point again if you are not displaying a 60% win rate. You can have a lucky guy with a 50% win rate a tier above an unlucky guy with a 50% win rate with both guys having about equal skills
Your point is just a lapalissade, IT IS obvious that if someone is much better or become much better skill wise than a certain rank he plays it he will rank up given enough games because he will boast very hig win rates
And it is obvious it is not all just luck, otherwise Faker wouldn't be the best player in the world for a lot of season straight
But the ones that discard completely the role luck has once you are somewhat in range of your "true" rank are just as much ridicoulous as the ones that say it is all luck, imho
