Cho'Gath is a necessary evil

For those who want Cho'Gath nerfed because of his true damage, knockup, silence, and assassins levels of burst while being very tanky:

He is necessary to keep abominations like in check. Otherwise they would probably dominate mid lane again. Cho'Gath is unfortunately one of the very few counters to assassins that we have, and one of the few mages who can properly deal with them in 100% of situations.

Also, due to his passive he is one of the few mana champions who can keep up with Zed and Kat's constant ability spam.

I fear what would happen if Cho'Gath was nerfed. He is the only reliable counter to Kat that I have.

I've personally found Malz to be a pretty reliable counter to Kat, same with Swain.

I find that Annie can keep Ahri in check with her burst + ignite combo

Completely agree with this post, he is one of few champions that deal with these champions well enough to the point of preventing them from snowballing through kills. As much as I strongly dislike how safe he is, he is most definitely a necessary evil.

the fun part is that he's not even OP, just annoying as all get out if you have a bad matchup against him.

he's extremely vulnerable to anyone who can all in and expect retaliation, so he has fun against assassins who he just "feast"s upon

anyone like amumu, darius, etc who can burst him down before he can pull off any kind of retaliation (or in amumu's case, can tank it and deal out twice as much) can punish his lane and make him less worthwhile to the team, but others he just outranges, sort of like gnar

wonder if gnar mid-lane will be a thing again some time shrug
