can s1 explain riven to me?

so every time i ask someone about riven its always the same "you gotta aa cancel and aa during your qs man!"

and what does EVERY FUCKING RIVEN do ingame? r q q q r triple kill WHERE IS THE AA CANCEL!? where is anything. i read 6 different guides on this champ, watched 8 different vids everything explaining the riven mechanics to its core... and all i see is r q q q r.

i dont want to play riven, i want to be able to survive a riven when i play adcs. but i just dont get it. pls s1 explain this champ to me. how do i beat a riven? because at the end with her 40% cdr, her shield and cc is almost permanently up.

That's part of the skill expression on riven; it's an animation cancel of her AA using Q's animation to override it. It allows her to effectively stack her passive quickly and fluidly.

Theres honestly nothing you can do as an ADC against her unless you're fantastic at AA spacing and are marginally mobile.

If you are low rank you wont see rivens animation cancel except for smurfs. Unless your some rank higher than plat(idk which) you cant really play against riven becasue you face some dog playing riven, then next time its someone better that destroys you because you dont know what her riven is capable of off.

Her mobility is directly tied to her damage. Without flash or Ghostblade she can't effectively get to you and because of her busted hp regen she can't exactly survive long without lifesteal and something to hit.

So, the secret is kite and peel. She has an okay mid game but if she rushes CDR, like most will she should, should, lack damage needed to instagib someone without getting stunlocked and be squishy enough for you and/or a teammate to peel or kite her away.

Also if you're asking about AA Cancelling, Riven has a surprisingly high skill ceiling. She did Auto Attack, just so fast that you didn't see it.
