Why nobody plays Xerath?

The guy got huge range, high magic power and its like the mage version of jhin or caitlyn

Why i see him so little?

because Lux is stronger, more rewarding and easier to play.

Because he takes time to learn. He's extremely fun and rewarding when you get good with him, but not so much otherwise.

All his abilities are skill shot based, which require intensive mechanics.

Every ability he has is a skillshot. The higher the elo of the players on the opposing team, the less success I have with him and I've been playing him extensively for the last several months.

He also takes quite awhile before he hits a decent powerspike (well, at least the way I build him...) meaning his laning phase is bleh. Xerath feels like a very "all or nothing" champ... Either I go 12/0/18 with him or I'm 0/10/0.

Being immobile is also a disadvantage, especially with the recent popularity of AD champions in the mid lane like Zed, Lucian and Jhin.

In general, though, I still love playing him.
