If my secondary is support I should not be *forced* to put something else to get my primary.

I'm a jungle/support main, but prefer jungling.

It gets really tiring only getting support.

I should not be forced to put "mid secondary" in order to get jungle because often I will get mid and I will not be as confident in that role, I get mid more often when I put jungle/mid than I get jungle when i put jungle/support

Specially if you're playing ranked where skill level actually matters. I've been playing jungle and support for a long time and I can guarantee myself in those roles, but if I put mid secondary and I end up getting mid I know I will likely be in a disadvantage from start because my opponent likely will be a mid main.

This system really fucks up people who are support secondary and I bet that it actually causes people to play support less, because no one is going to be queuing support secondary, ever, if they don't want to play support. At least that's what happened to me. I've been feeling less and less inclined to play support in the past months.

There has been several suggestions already to fix this. Please do something about this, Riot.

So for years we had a system where if u are last pick u play whats left, it could be any of 5 positions. But now when its between 2 its a problem?

There's a big difference here.

Out of like 50 games queueing jungle/support (I was experimenting to see what would happen) I think I got jungle once, maybe twice.

In the older system, to start, I'd have a 20% chance of being first pick so that's 20% chance of being guaranteed my main role. I would likely get jungle at least 60% of the time.

Also, there was something named "calling" and people usually would respect that, albeit not always, even if you were last pick you could call mid and still get it.

In this new system you can still say "hey, can I go jungle?", but it's really rare for someone to trade jungle for support (happened once with me).

I've had many people trade whatever role I got for jungle or top...even support. Some don't really care. Also just because in the old ranking you called mid and you were last pick doesn't mean that you'd get it. It was first come, first serve there. Some were nice enough to let you have your pick, others not so much.

Before, the question was, did the pick(s) above me want jungle? Given the fact the role was far removed form being the most popular, odds are, I'm getting jungle.

NOW it puts me where demand requires me to go. Support is in low supply, and I therefore get stuck there pretty often.

I'm giving rough estimate here, so don't quote me on that, but in the old system, if you specialized in 2 roles (that's what I did, even before the new Champ Select), you could get your primary ~60% of the time, your secondary ~35% of the time. So yeah, you had ~5% games where you were forced to play something different. That's 1 every 20 games.

I'd say that the new system is better overall, because you have roughly the same shares, minus the 1 every 20 games, minus the chatter and potential raging before picking. EXCEPT if one of your 2 roles is Support. Then, you get support 90% of the time, whether it's primary or secondary, and it's really really tiring.

The problem is not being forced 1 of 2 positions (instead of 5). It's being forced 1 single position 90% of the time. Old system was 1 out of 5 20% of the time, in a very worst case scenario.

The actual fix is to make support an appealing role. This is played into majorly by the fact that everyone blames the support first. No one thanks the support. I highly doubt in the queueing logic that there is a check that "If support, give him support". You're over generalizing a bit. I'm a support main as well, and I put support as my primary role. I don't always get support.

I know so many people who like support but won't play it because they're sick of being the community whipping boy. I don't think this is something Riot is charge of fixing. There's only so much that Riot can do before we as the community need to take our own toxicity into our own hands.

The problem is, this system makes support even less appealing, because if you queue it as secondary you have a 95% chance of getting it. (Based on my stats, it can vary from person to person, note that I'm from Brazil so the stats are different)

Yes, the community sucks, I play jungle and support and I'm always the one being blamed for whatever reason. To be honest, from my experience, jungle gets even more shit than support. Normally the one cursing the support is just the adc, while everyone curses the jungler.

But there is an inherent problem with the system that discourages people who are support secondary to actually play support.

Ideas to help make Support more appealing (as saying "Fix this Riot" isn't that helpful) which is the true problem as Support are proportionally more rare than most other roles:

  1. Mute Everyone button
  2. Mute button in chat (so you don't have to open the score screen)
  3. Include more statistics relevant to support that they can go into post game screen and feel good about (or point to showing they were doing something)
  4. Support only Summoner that gives access to support only items. This one will be majorly difficult to implement.

EDIT: Jungle may get more flame, but there is far more glory in the jungle. It's easier to accept and ignore flame when you can get kills, can get CS, are responsible for securing objectives. I'm not saying it is right that Jungle does, but those may be factors as why Support is still rarer than Jungle.

  1. Mute Everyone button

Love it.

Like showing how much damage was absorbed through our shields!

I'd really like something like this. Jungler's get their Smite and Jungle only items, I'd like a Support only Summoner spell, and support only items. Even our "support" items are used by mid laners. coughcoughdamnmagesusingfrostqueencough

There definitely needs to be a "Damage Shielded" statistic, but I doubt that will make support more attractive to anyone. It will likely only affect people who already like supporting.

While a mute everyone button would not be any harm, we already have the muteall command.

  1. Would be nice, but again I highly doubt that would make it more appealing, it just cuts the muting in half a second.

  2. I do not think this would be a good idea. But maybe it's because I cannot think of anything of the sort. I feel like this will force support in one direction and greatly reduce diversity among the role.

Edit: what I mean by asking for Riot to fix it is a system that would guarantee the player to get their primary role at least 50% of the time. Team builder was nice, but queue times were way to long.

True, but I feel like it's super hard to really look at the stats after a game and see how much I contributed to the game.

What? We do? is it just /muteall ?

  1. Would be nice, but again I highly doubt that would make it more appealing, it just cuts the muting in half a second.

While yes it is such a short amount of time saved, but you'd be surprised how much making an option much more accessible can help.

I agree. It's a tough call. That's why i was thinking that it'd be super super hard to do correctly. I feel like they did a marvelous job with jungle items... which my idea is a straight up copy of that. :/

Supp/jg here. Much sympathy from me. Supp is my stronger role, and I'm happy playing it more often than jungle, but it gets boring when I'm supp every match. Would be nice to get my secondary at least on occasion. Mind you, sometimes I'll swap to jg/supp to try to facilitate that, but it never helps.

I'm utter trash at other roles. I can be carried top and occasionally mid, but will never carry from them. I'm a godawful adc. I'd rather not list any of them as secondaries, because it'd not be good if I actually got them! I'll reserve those roles for normals, thank you.

I'm a support main that occassionally like to take a break from babysitting and play ADC or Top. I can't even list my main if I want to play anything else.

This McStupid DumbDynamicQueue is literally cancer. I main adc, I sub support. I don't mind playing support even 50% of the time or so. Look up my IGN and check my stats from previous seasons. I have no problems going support if need be. It's my second strongest role.

When I do bot/sup, I get support ninety f***ing ninety percent of the goddamned time. Want to know what puts me on tilt, every DUCKING game I'm support. Each time I get to watch my adc play like a returd and feed or fail the crap out of the lane I get more pissed off because there's the obvious expectation that next game I'm going to be support again. And again. And again, and again I get to watch my adc play like a toad with giraffe legs.

So freaking stupid.

I've gotten to the point now where I'm so pissed off that if it gives me support and I'm above the bot laner, I will tell the team I'm taking adc. Because that's literally the only way I get to play adc these days. So freaking annoying. And you know how those games usually turn out. He starts whining and crying. And then of course it's dynamic queue so guess who's always doing solo? Me. Meanwhile, my allies are godforsaken 4man queues or 3 mans or double 2 mans or whatever the crappilepoo **** that Riot forces me to play with. Of course him and his little crybaby friends whine and cry and attempt to first pick adc out away from me or whatever else. And then there are the obvious 3-4 reports and whatever else I get form enemy team afterwards also.

So thanks a turdload of thanks, Riot, for your ******duckface queue system that you. I'm at the point now where I'm so fed up with League because of this retarded queue system that I don't care about the reports anymore. I will continue taking adc if I'm above the bot laner even though it says support for me. And if Riot deems it worthwhile to ban me then go ahead. I can finally quit this retarded game and get on with my projects and other games because I'm so sick of this ****y queue system.
