Why play Ryze when Cassiopeia does roughly 60% more damage from longer range?

Not considering that Ryze needs an unobstructed line to his target and has significantly weaker CC.

The balance decisions here make absolutely no sense.

because one of them can teleport an entire team in a favored position and use targeted cc on someone so they can't move

the other is an immobile mage who only has a skillshot for cc on their ultimate which also has a significant cooldown

Cassiopeia item 3116 plus her E for zoning. If you really think Ryze's CC is better than Cass's infinite slows, you are high. Ryze has a short ranged root, that doesn't even hope to compare to the slow fields cass can create and the constant threat of being ulted in the face.

They both have the same function as sustained high damage caster DPS. Cassiopeia just shits on Ryze in every area.

Maybe you should stop posting and work on getting out of Silver, instead of talking back to Diamond players? Just a thought.

Well lets be honest if you are going Ryze top its because you want to punish some poor tanks that want to go top, so if cassopia wants to go up there and make them suffer, I will gladly let her.

Ryze's burst can be sustained until he runs out of mana. Cass's burst can also be sustained until she runs out of mana. Burst that isn't gated by long cooldowns is sustained damage, even if it's very high sustained damage.

Cassiopeia just does 60% more damage than Ryze does, whether it's counted over a 2 second window or a 10 second window.

Maybe you should stop pot, and work on a proper education instead of working out your fingers? Clearly the functions Ryze and Cassiopeia provide, is entirely different. Can Cassiopeia teleport her entire team? No. Ryze affords his utility by giving up damage, and less AOE damage capability. Cassiopeia gives up utility and mobility, for damage.

Two different champions, two different kits, two different purposes.

Don't go wagging your rank around.

You're not a challenger, not as if you're the upper echelon of play, and those individuals are very humble.
Your mentality, and evaluation of champions is not high.

Because sub-Diamond players are basically playing a completely different game, thanks to they and everyone they play with being bad.

Balance is completely different at higher levels. Arguing is a waste of time because they perceive the game differently, and are unable to understand how champions work when everyone in the game has a higher skill level than a handicapped monkey.

It would be better to just have Diamond restricted Gameplay forums, but we don't.

There used to be a lot, but since Boards, most have stopped posting thanks to the removal of visible rank badges and low rated players overwhelming every thread.

It's no longer possible to have any real discussion on actual balance at a high level.

Exhibit A: a premade-boosted player is mad because they got destroyed in lane by a "weak" champion with a kit they do not understand at all.

DPS spreadsheet-warriors exist in every online game, but thankfully they are fairly rare in league, even the stupidest ones quickly learn that "shooting a wall" optimal dps has no connection to real gameplay in skill-based games. The remaining ones make shitposts like this thread.

If you think his ult is one of the best in the game, I don't know what to tell you. It's a very situational ult with no damage. It brings a team utility teleport that is extremely short ranged. It's not a terrible ult but far from the best.

Cass out shines ryze so much with just a item 3116 when it comes to CC.

His ult is pretty good when coordinated right m9, and his cc doesn't require conditions to land so it's more reliable without counting Crystal scepter.

Honestly I kinda agree. Cass brings more utility and damage than Ryze. Like, his teleport is cool and all, but Cass ult and her E slow bring way more useful utility than a situational teleport and why he'll probably not see professional play while Cass continues to see it.

They are very similiar mages, but short range and all about kiting and sustain damage, but Cass just does it better. I can only see Ryze being picked for cheesing the enemy team with a teleport kennen or something along those lines. He needs buffs to be honest and this comes from someone who hated old Ryze.
