Because they aren't shit.

ADC players are used to the absurd amount of early power they were able to abuse after the Marksman and mage updates by abusing assassin items and such.

This is imo more in line with how Adc's should be in terms of balance, tho i feel that ADC's are too strong late and could use a bit more power midgame.

Right now, Early game bullies can bully early game but still become absurd late. Champs like Ashe, Varus and Jhin that trade lategame power for Utility are more balanced imo. Champs like Vayne and Twitch Take a bit to long to get rolling but become utterly broken when they reach a certain point in the game.

Marksman need to stop having this stigma where they have to be busted late game and each have power curves more in line with every other champion class.

Lane bullies like Draven are too strong late, while utility marksman are more consistent if a bit too strong late, while Lategame carries like vayne and Twitch are absurd to justify them over the lane bullies that are strong late.

To be honest the only adc that I excuse having high damage is draven due to his incredibly high skill cap.

Im fine with Draven having high damage but considering he is an early game lane bully, his lategame power is seriously unjustified.

jhin and ashe trade late game power for their utility.... im not seeing it. when jhin has more ad than any other adc his slightly lower scaling damage on his spells even off because he has more ad than any of them can dream of getting. and ashe gets extra damage on top of her utility

Jhin focuses on long range execution damage and cleaning up fights.

If his team loses the fight hard there isn't much he can do since he can't melt people like Twitch or Vayne.

Ashe literally does less Damage than other ADCs. Jhin's damage mostly is in execute damage so he doesn't really DPS people like other ADCs. he needs his team to help him soften them up first before he can start picking people off. Outside of that he is basically mostly a Utility tool with his E and and W and his Ultimate is more often used for the slow than it is the straight damage and execute potential.

Hypercarries doing hypercarry things isn't broken. Hypercarries suck mainly right now so I'm glad some of them are viable.

I think you missed what i am saying.

They are needlessly oppressive lategame and are mostly underwhelming early and mid game. They should be monsters late but the level at which they are demons of hell late game in contrast to how powerful they are in the rest of the game needs to be properly redistributed.

I'ts like this flat plain until suddenly they hit this spike where they are unstoppable and no amount of outplay can really end them.

This was actually one of the intentions of the marksman update: smoothing out their power curve.

It's funny that the most balanced champions that you listed are all the top ADCs in pros right now.

Cosnirak2 votes

That's because in pro games if a champion has a notable weak period it gets heavily exploited by the enemy team. Being decent all game but never spectacular is worth while when coordination is that high. Note that those same champions are rarely banned in pro games.

Adcs are meant to take towers/barons/dragons fast. If you can find someone else who can do that (such as ziggs can take down towers) then we dont need them

You cant say adcs are bad just because you have had a bad adc. I am very sure that if we did not need adcs, then high elo players would not be using adcs.

Wow you had one bad adc player, that means all marksmen are trash...

What is the purpose of this thread?

If ADCs suck then POWER CURVE.

Wat.

To the I believe to be point. ADCs don't suck, they're heavily team reliant and in a meta that revolves around smashing bot Lane into oblivion. When they get behind now it's exponentially more detrimental than it was even a few months ago. The meta has shifted to early game Zerging and it makes ADCs a big pile of "feelsbadman".

They're underperforming not becuase they suck, but because games are ending before they can get to a point of non suck, or games are snowballing so hard they take over and it wouldnt of mattered who was bot because they have a full build at 25 minutes

adc mains are always complaining. tanks deal so much damage. assassins kill us so fast. a mage deletes me with a combo. bruisers are too op. my support is trash. it's always the same.... they are always crying!!

Because ADCs aren't bad, ADC players are just spoiled and if anything can kill them through their torrent of damage and lifesteal, adcs are considered garbage.

tor·rent ˈtôrənt,ˈtärənt/ noun noun: torrent; plural noun: torrents

a strong and fast-moving stream of water or other liquid.
"rain poured down in torrents"
synonyms:	flood, deluge, inundation, spate, cascade, cataract, rush, stream, current, flow, overflow, tide
"a torrent of water"
a sudden, violent, and copious outpouring of (something, typically words or feelings).
"she was subjected to a torrent of abuse"
synonyms:	outburst, outpouring, stream, flood, volley, barrage, tide, spate
    "a torrent of abuse"

Nope. ADCs have a copious outpouring of damage and lifesteal. The word torrent is used correctly in that context.

LCS and Solo q are balanced very differently. LCS has a different 'meta' than solo Q. It's also a reason why MF sup works for LCS, but if you try it in SoloQ, it sucks ass

Mf support instantly kills Zyra plants. That is why it was picked.

It is the hardest counter to cancerous Zyra.

Although I do agree that Marksmen are essential if you want to take objectives. Melee champions don't go bot lane because it is hard to take a turret while being zoned by ranged champions. You'll find that having no ranged AD champions on your team will result in fewer objectives taken.

Twitch sure, killing 3 people in 3 seconds is sure weak

buff my main pls

Because ADCs have somehow managed to go 6 seasons without being buttfucked by anyone other than their own kind (Caitlyn and Draven in particular). Top laners have to put up with being useless all game if they get counterpicked by Quinn or Teemo, but the first time an ADC is bullied by Ziggs they freak out and claim the ADC role no longer exists.

BIH Diamond4 votes

The name of the role just attracts the biggest douche bags in the game. "Ad CARRY" - "If I'm not carrying adcs are weak, why can't I 1v2??"

Because after the ADC nerfs, botlane is even more dictated by the support and the other lanes. In other words, they don't really have control over the momentum of the game unless they themselves are that much better than their opponents. Marksmen aren't bad, in fact they're still needed.

sobi9993 votes

adc's are bad because supp's , tanks and assasins all have gotten so much better than they were before. Especially now mage supp can delete adc's in seconds and not to mention junglers are so OP. ADC's are just the most easy target so they think they are weak. Late game though, no one catches up to them.

Snowplosion2 votes
  1. They aren't that bad
  2. They are still best suited for the 2v2 meta in bot

most supports do ADC's job better pre 30min and cough cough COUGHHHHHH ZIGGS

Chimp Joker2 votes

What? What support? With what build? I wonder if the player understands what a support's role is.

Divine Winds2 votes

Ziggs isnt a support. Ziggs is a AP carry, to replace AD carry, and similarly needs a support in bot lane.

Do you even play supports? Or know what a support does? What support does more damage than an ADC if both played with equal skill and with same gold?

Nymzo1 votes

I would say Zyra , Brand and the new addition to the ap ''supports'' of bot lane, Malzahar

Divine Winds1 votes

Did you hear what I said? Those supports aren't supposed to deal more. A fed ADC will always deal more than them because they are building damage, while those are focusing on support items first then damage if needed.

Umm yes actually, you are supposed to build dmg on them, that is literally why you bring them into the bot lane: they are a kill lane and can become a second ap carry if you are fed enough.

You can build item 3107 and item 3190 if you need to, but you don't rush it on those kind of supports. After item 2301, item 3158, item 3116 and item 3151, you can either build more ap or go more defensive if you really need too.

I can't even count how many times I've seen a zyra dealing more dmg than a fed twitch.

Divine Winds2 votes

Then the twitch didn't do his job. If both were played regularly in a game, where the support takes little cs, then the adc should have dealt more damage. Since they are a damage carry, and the support is a support.

LetsHaveBadIdeas2 votes

The short version is that people play them because they provide a service no other class of champion does (there may be individual exceptions within classes, but no other class as a whole does this).

Specifically they bring down objectives, particularly towers and inhibitors, relatively quickly with ranged autos. The **ranged **autos bit is important because it means that, typically, if the siege goes pearshaped and the opposing team attempts to jump the sieging team, the siegers are likely to be able to get out from under tower range. If they don't get locked down entirely, they are very likely a mere 1 movement skill/other positioning tool away from not having to fight under the enemy tower.

The ranged autos means the damage to the objective is largely smoothly and consistently delivered. It's predictable, doesn't consume resources, doesn't come with opportunity costs (e.g.: Ziggs has a turret execute on his Satchel Charge, but has to consider whether he should use it because if he does, he has approximately jack and shit for mobility or escapes if there's a gank incoming. Using the skill creates a window of weakness for him, which AAing does not for an ADC).

Compare and contrast, for example attempting to bring down a tower with a team that is 100% melee. If you get caught, at best you give the opposing team several more seconds to land stuns etc. etc. under tower, at worst are forced to stand and fight while taking 4-5 tower shots. Your tank might not care but your carries sure will.

So short version: People play ADCs because the game is won by taking objectives. It doesn't matter how many kills your team has, if the other team takes your Nexus. And while there are plenty of other champions better at securing control over an objective, or the area around it, there are comparitively few non-ADCs who are as good at doing the high amounts of consistent, low-risk DPS needed to safely/efficiently take objectives.
