I missing the AP mid assasins

Right now assasin AD got some buff which make them in a decent spot in jungle and in their lane. But from the season 5 ap melee assassin (with the exclusion of katarina ekko and fizz who got a dash and has enough defensive for stay in lane) has stopped to be played enough to be in a good spot eg diana akali (elise?¿) but now mid lane has become a cruel area for those champ and for survive lategame they're force to build tank item with losing the assasin role and figure more like a diver. Maybe they could get some love for their survivability / quality of life (elise currently has getting some love but i would like if she's played in other role as an AP mid lane assassin than only a ap tank/diver in jungle lane (i wish nidalee can be played in more area too) and akali can get a fast Q missile speed because the mark is far slow compared than her Dash+Aa and for proc the mark she need 2 aa). Plz give some love to ap melee assasinchamp. Akali Diana Elise Kassadin (Mordekaiser Nidalee iknow they're not melee assasin but they could get some mid lane reward) [katarina-love]

meanwhile fizz has 53% win rate and 7% pick rate

He is really cancerous and strong obviously needs nerfs. But other AP assassins are too weak compared to AD ones.

That's why i just make an exception for mobile ap assasin eg kata/ekko/fizz

I agree AP champions need more love. AD's always have better damage and sustain even ADC's have high burst. Diana Elise aren't assassins btw. They have no mobility to disengage/escape after bursting someone unlike assassins ( Ahri Akali Ekko Fizz Kassadin Katarina Leblanc Nidalee ) so they are divers.

Iknow those two are diver but as diana (and other assasin) i've no way to proc my waweclear ability without risk my own life in lane and getting for 3aa as a reward the same E lux damage on waweclear with shorter range/are of effect and a small reward of 3 mana for the risk andof her Q does not enough damage for be a decent waweclear. Akali pre 6 has no way to bully her enemy mid laner (Her Q literally do nothing without apply the mark and she's suppose to play more passive than diana who has at least a long range Q. They should be rewarded after lv 6 but with the ignite buff she lose her lane too fast + their lv 6 can be call as a bait mechanix (Eg imagine if i'm a long/mid lane ranged champ, i'm bullying too much akali or diana that im tilting both of em,they reach lv 6 and the tilt make em go all in on me but i tould that she was getting lv 6 and probably she will all in on me resoult a free kill for me or my ally + my enemy fall off much faster. Akali/Diana are mid game focussed (at least kassadin work well as late game scale) but for a champ having their power curve setup around 6-11lv week while mage took around early/mid or mid/late game scale.

kata is struggling and feels less of an assassin now. all you do on her is poke like mad with Q's till you all in which isnt great usually cause of how easily you get out traded cause of her recent nerfs

HP Crookshanks2 votes

Her Q is really weak btw. Really low damage (75 / 105 / 135 / 165 / 195 (+ 30% AP)) and short range (625) so it's bad for poking and you get bullied by the long ranged abilities easily.

I think Akali and Diana are in a fine spot. Just play safe till level 6 then shit on ur laner and snowball. I can't say the same about the rest because I don't play them or play against them a lot and I play Talon who hard-counters Kassadin.

item 3155 / item 3156 just fuck them up, since they're "all-in" and can't go back (aside from Kassadin who isn't an "assassin")

item 3155 is too strong against every AP champions.

I don't really see hex drinker as that much of a problem. It's a more defensive based buy, like item 3191 , so it SHOULD feel like it makes an assassin's life harder. But you sacrifice damage to build it rather than damage based items. You also sacrifice versatility, since hex drinker and seekers armguard build only have a single buildpath (with the exception of moonflair spellblade in 3's)

I also disagree that akali and diana are "all-in" with no out. Akali's shroud and ult make perfectly fine escape tools. Diana, if built like an assassin, is also able to escape too. Once she finds an opening and manages to land a Q, she can ult in, kill her target without using her refreshed R, and instead use that second ult as an escape.

item 3155 and item 3191 are not comparable. You just buy item 3155 and become unkillable by the enemy midlaner. item 3191 is a weak item and you will have mana problems if you build it first item.

Catlinite1 votes

item 3155 definitely doesn't make anyone unkillable lol. Sure, it makes you safer. That's the whole point of buying it. But it comes with sacrifices to A) damage B) item versatility and C) your power spike from your first big item. And you can certainly still die with it. Plenty of ad midlaners completely forgo hexdrinker cause they want that kill potential from an early lethality item.

item 3191 definitely not weak lmao. It doesnt give you a shield from physical dmg like hex, but the the passive provides a pretty great chunk of stats ontop of it's already devent base stats. It's a very gold efficient item, with plenty of armor to make you safer from ad mids/jungles. I don't see the mana problems argument either. Rushing a mana item isn't necessary or even recommended on most ap mids. You could try to make the same argument against hex drinker leaving an ad mid without lifesteal anyways.

Pfft, I miss when mid was all Adc's , and mages went bot with supports.

Ahri Baka1 votes

Not really , most All Ap assassin mid laners are in a good spot except LB the problem is with mages

Catlinite1 votes

I disagree. In my opinion, they're in a pretty great spot. The ap assassins might not always feel up-to-snuff because of items. With the introduction of lethality, ad assassins can hit their power spikes a lot faster than ap assassins can. The trade off is that ap assassins tend to scale muchhhh better into the late game. Diana is doing pretty fine. Plus she's eventually getting a rework, which she needs badly. Akali's not doing too bad either. I personally think she needs a slight buff to her Q's base missile damage. Trying to last hit with that piddly 35-55 is a nightmare. Lanning phase is supposed to be rough for her, but damn, give a girl a chance. Leblanc is a work in progress. The others (kata, fizz, ekko, kass) all seem to be doing great ( too great @_@) and are top tier picks. I feel like ap assassins are actually in a pretty great spot, but could use another item or two that's dedicated specifically to them.

I will agree that Nid Mid is dead and needs something to bring her back to life. She's doing great in the jungle, but she's got very little to offer in mid. Would be nice if there was a way to make her a more viable solo laner without buffing her already good pick as a jungler. I miss her item 3070 item 3070
