You do realize he has a TEAM with him, and if you blow all your CC on him, you are vulnerable to THEM. Also, even if you use a CC to stop his Meditate, he still takes reduced damage from that skill. At which point he continues his Highlander and Q's you, preventing yet another CC, and then shreds you. He can also run
, which in effect means for your point to be valid,
- You need a CC for his Meditate
- You need a CC for his First Q
- You need a CC for his Post Meditate Q
- You need a CC for his Mercurial Scimitar.....
Almost 95% of the game's CC is literally skill shots, which Yi is immune to when he's in Q. And current items alsmot make Q spammable.
The only exceptions which Yi cannot react to are the following:
's Stun, which if cast on her R or W, is instant, with no time to react/Q
's Root on R, which briefly stops his movement.
's Passive stun, which occurs when he attacks/skills a target and allies get off 3 other attacks, which proc the stun from a Mark
's R, but only as long as Camille is alive, and Yi can kill Camille in her field.
's Charm. One of the BEST counters to Yi's cc avoidance, because any part of her kit can activate it. 4 tries on Q, 3 of which do not require targetting, E, and auto attacks, and her R. Evelynn also cannot be targetted by Alpha Strike while Stealthed, so she's situationally good for this task.
's Taunt, since it's a nontarget aoe.
's W, since it has a delayed activate, that occurs even if Yi is in Q when it happens. (requires her to survive that long though)
's Ult. Aoe non target stun after 3 ticks.
's Ult...... if she can survive that long, and note that Morg's R slow will not affect him, so he can easily leave it.
's R, which is only an unavoidable knockup. Not a guaranteed control.
's Taunt, which in turn gets him killed from auto attacks, and recharges Yi's skills for when it ends.
..... and that's IT. Those are the only reliable CC at hitting Yi in the entire game. The rest require you to:
Sacrifice teammates to stand aside and cc him after he lands from a Q.
Risk him going airborne again, and miss.
Risk skill delays which make them avoidable.
And ALL of them, including most of the ones I mentioned..... are Mercurial Scimitar-able.
I read your counter to the post below. You really don't seem to understand that Yi's Q makes him immune to cc that is a skill shot during his Q. Nothing can hit Yi in Q at all. Your CC has to hit BEFORE he Q's or after, or be initiated by a Mark, or be a "Field" CC which affects the area, not a specific target/s.
