Shield effects on champions that are already shielded are now 50% as effective
Shield stacking is now closer to being balanced.
Shield stacking is now closer to being balanced.
no to all of this...since when was shield stacking a problem?there are not enough shields in the game to even warrant such a huge nerf....
The amount of people in denial about how broken shields are is hilarious
im not saying some champions dont have really strong shields but nerfing all of them across the board from working together is a good thing...
Why though?
Why though?
Because shield stacking is retarderdly strong. Especially with how good ardents censor is atm.
Also is that a problem with shields or Ardent Censer?
No thanks. You can keep your link.
If you're not gonna read or at least look at the video then there's no point of you commenting.
Damage creep is worse in my opinion
Last game our blitz grabbed the enemy syndra, but her team had
both with their shield items, so instead of she popping like a party balloon, she tanked our whole team.
The problem is not tanks shielding themselves, that's their jobs. What's stupid is when a squishy guy fucks up, but doesn't die because of shield spam.

Protect the carry/ Juggermaw comps are nothing new. And they come with the Opportunity cost of having more dedicated carries/tanks/whatever.
If shields are strong, it's because they're strong in general. But there's nothing stupid about drafting a comp designed to shield their primary damage dealers.
The problem is Ivern has made tripple shield comps much stronger, since he comes without a drawback of having someone less effective in their actual role.
Ivern is a squishy support whose shield is weaker if he builds tank.
Maybe... dont pick an assassin/Blitzcrank against a comp with strong single target shields, and instead go for a champion with AoE?
Or focus someone that doesn't have the shields on them

Unless he builds tanky, he is squishy.
Unless he builds support and/or AP, his shielding capacity is mediocre.
Specially now that they are changing support itemization once again, whatever tankiness his support build had will be considerably lessened.
No
Mordekaiser: But But but always shield never die! But but always shield never die? https://giphy.com/gifs/ByfMAvE0RachO
If those changes go through
er mah gerd damage is too high squishies die in a second er mah gerd shields are too high, can't kill squishies in a second
if we nerf shields we go back to problem 1
Lifesteal is now half as effective on critical hits.
50% is a bit brutal, but this is a good idea.
Although I agree that shields are stupid atm I don't like this change. I think we should just nerf the shields themselves Shield stacking was never really an issue in the past. It's an issue now because of all the shield increasing stats.
Why would you want to nerf my 7 shield janna!?
So, I'm seeing some pushback on you here. I think both sides have good points.
Something to consider, though; locket is now going to be much less effective on people that are not stacking health. I think that's going to help cut down a LOT on this problem. Ivern is getting hit kinda hard through the item changes on 7.13. I'm interested to see how the dust settles on that.
If you have time, drop in on surrenderat20.net and let me know what you think about those item changes, as it relates to this problem.
Imo this is a great change.
Isn't this just going to nerf enchanter supports?
Isn't this just going to nerf enchanter supports?
They have the highest win rates, proof that shields are OP.
...but in a list of the top 12 supports (the supports with above 50% win rate) the only enchanters with shields are sona, janna, and taric.
OH NO SOMEONE HELP ME
I'm coming!
WTF YOUR ULT SHIELDS FOR NOTHING
You used your W...
Shield stacking is now closer to being balanced.
Yeah, how about leave the game design and balance to the professionals.
Damn, stacking
's Ult + E with

was one of the most lowkey-broken teamfight maneuvers.....hopefully it still works at least marginally-well Q___Q
Counterintuitive change just because someone lost to the "Protect the Carry" team compostions, one of the few legit Team Comps in this game...
Can we at least prioritize the strongest active shield? The idea is good, but if rakan for example gets a big shield on top of his small passive shield, he'd basically never get a effective shield.
