Give Ahri's Charm the Xerath stun treatment.

Ahri shouldn't be able to dash up into your face and CC you for the full duration given she has two dashes to get to safety if she misses the charm. Why not make it like Xersth's stun where as the range from the enemy champion increases, so does the CC duration. On top of this, her Q movement speed should be taken away entirely or reduced.

As a Xerath Main, I wouldn't wish that mechanic on any champion. It's positively miserable having a stun that varies so wildly in it's duration.

What's more, it's a bad fit for a champion who's suppose to go diving forward.

If anything, she should have the opposite of Xerath's stun, where it's stronger the closer she is and weaker the further away she is. That would prevent her from just fishing with it and jumping on anyone she happened to hit, forcing her to use her mobility offensively if she wants to be effective against targets.

I agree with this. she shouldn't be fishing for charms from far away. thats absolute cancer against mobile. she has so many options. she should be somwhat forced into a niche. not do everything. also it shouldn't do as much damage for a strong cc ability as it does now

that is one way of looking at it. the way i looked at it was flavor of the month players picking up their new waifu Ahri and abusing how fucking easy it is to dash in, charm, and blow somebody up. the change would reflect favorably upon the players that have practiced her and main her and know her ranges, missile speeds, etc.

Fun fact, Ahri is not getting nerfed cause she doesn't need it

Incoming insert champ name here mains to downvote me.

Oh yeah...

...so are you proposing this because you are actually having problems playing against Ahri? Or are you suggesting this because "statistics"?

I can't say I'm having any problems playing against Ahri right now. And I don't find it unfair to get CC'd when she jumps into my face just to land her skillshot - her dash isn't super fast so I have time to react while she's moving to get out of the way (not much but still time to react). I can land my own CC or try to blow her up first. Sometimes I get Charmed and utterly wrecked, but it never feels unfair to me.

Considering how many champions need to be in melee range to use their CC, and complaints that Ahri is "too safe"...why are we trying to discourage Ahri from jumping into close quarters where we can interact with her? If Ahri needs to dash into melee range to hit her Charm, then it means Ahri is burning her Ultimate to all-in you. Even if she does get away after missing her E, she still used up her Ult just trying so it's a pretty good trade in your favor.

NvestmentPlanker1 votes

lol the only reaction you have is to burn your 300 second CD flash when she's getting within melee range to E you. sure, there are times you can side step or they just flat out miss (leave it up for interpretation) but she controls the lane and you just have to sit back and PRAY she makes a mistake. that is not ok. making her charm like xerath stun makes it so the people who are actually good at landing long range Charms and main Ahri don't get hit nearly has hard and the flavor of the month tards that abuse her aren't as successful.

How about we don't do that please?

Xerath is a long range mage, and his current E encourages him to stun from far away, however Ahri is a mage/assassin hybrid.

Yes, I too love comparing two champions in a complete void, using only two abilities and not looking at the entirety of their kits when it comes to Balancing champions.

NvestmentPlanker1 votes

Ok. Your point? Looking at their entire kits Ahri is extremely overloaded compared to Xerath and a SHIT TON more safe while being able to assassinate people with ease. Has literally zero bad matchups in lane. The only time an Ahri loses lane is when she makes a mistake.

You don't know what you're talking about. Look at actually overloaded people, like Ekko or Camille. People who actually are overloaded. Ahri does damage, some true, has a simple CC, 3 dashes on a relatively high CD, and a speed boost. Ekko had 3 slows, a stun, waveclear, mobility on a shorter CD + a speed boost, can Nope his way out of most surprises sticks to people amazingly, can do burst and widdle people down.

Shit Ton more safe while being able to assassinate people with ease

I forgot that Xerath was an assassin.

zero bad matchups

Lissandra, pre-nerf Leblanc, Yasou (though that's a skill match up honestly), Swain, Syndra. Potentially Veigar.

The only time an Ahri loses lane is when she makes a mistake

Technically, anyone who lost lane made a mistake somewhere along their fight.

What about bringing back the damage increase from it, but nerfing her damage in the rest of her kit to make up for it? Just a thought I had. It could be terribly stupid.

Remove the MS buff on Orb Lower the Base of Charm Add the Damage Amp back.

That would essentially revert the changes to her when they removed it.

Back then though she wasn't considered that great of a champion, I enjoyed her back then, Season 4. I still enjoy her though. Shes my favorite champ of all time :D.

Ahris problem is not her Q move speed its not her charm and its 100 FUCKING % not her damage its her ult and everyone knows its her ult that makes her so good If ahri didint have that ult in her current state she would be garbage this is probably why riot is being so hesitant with nerfing her because her damage is ASS unless shes fed. the character might seem easy to balance but right now any Flat nerf would make her garbage she would need Damage compensation for mobility nerfs and considering that her WR is only 52% shes hardly the biggest problem ATM and dont even try to pretend that her pick rate is a problem when LeeSin Ezreal and Lucian all have over 40% pick rates

NvestmentPlanker1 votes

funny how Lee Sin just got to 50% in winrate. Lucian is overpowered and will be getting nerfed. Ezreal has a 47% winrate so nice deflection method. Ahri is a major problem but people just want to deflect to the popular QQ champs. Ahri's winrate is 53.8% in Platinum+ btw. which is the elo that matters most in balance changes. a winrate that high with her pickrate being as high as it is is unacceptable. As i stated above; if lee sin, yasuo, kassadin, fiora, riven, vayne, etc had a winrate that high with a pickrate of over 20% the boards would fucking explode.

She was 100% fine before they added the Q move speed on her to begin with. JSYK. Removing it would not in any way nerf her hard enough to make her terrible. The only reason they added it in the first place was because everyone was up in arms when her charm got the same treatment as other effects like it where the dash completes before they're affected. Fast forward to today, that QOL change hasn't affected her in the slightest and she still got that Q movespeed buff.

DonGiovanni2 votes

Ahri's ult should be treated the same way as Kassadin's ult. There should be a cooldown between charges to use them in quick succession. If Kassadin can't catch her with his off-the-charts mobility, then here is something wrong there.

Souji1 votes

As many people have been saying, all she needs is the ms from her Q removed or lowered or something. Charm is fine. Her damage is fine.

NvestmentPlanker1 votes

when a champion's winrate is over 54% with a playrate over 20%, removing the short movement speed boost off of her Q is not all it takes to balance her.

Ahri isn't Xerath

DunkinNoobs1 votes

This change would punish good gameplay and thus will never happen. Ahri is supposed to get close to the target she's trying to kill and making her charm weaker at close range completely counteracts that idea. It's already a super thin skillshot with a telegraphed casting animation: stand behind minions, dodge it, or stfu.
