I know there are too many Mordekaiser threads in G&B, but I still want to ask a question

Why almost all of Mordekaiser's damage need to be focused on his Q?

Wouldn't it be better to nerf his Q damage and shift it to E? This would make his E less useless while balancing Q, which currently has the potential to be either too powerful because you can hit the thirt Q, or completely useless because you can't hit the thirt Q.

E ise the only ranged poke that Mordekaiser has and used to be most of his waveclear in a solo lane. It would make sense taking into account that Riot wants him now to be a duo laner, and would allow solo lane Mordekaiser to be more viable, especially against ranged champions.

problem is that E is an instant-cast cone, you can't really avoid it unless you preemptively move out of it.

Q definitely needs to be toned down, but E also needs to be retuned. I suggest giving it a short delay and slightly more range (higher scaling/same base? higher base/same scaling?), and possibly add some form of utility to it.

I'd like to see his overall damage toned down as far as his full combo goes, but to make it a little more rewarding/reliable to land (improve his base AS so he doesn't need to invest in Triforce, for example) and to put more power into what Mordekaiser can consistently access instead of things he cannot (W being ally-cast only, dragon ghost being such a large part of his budget discouraging top lane Mord)

E has a delay BTW. It's no longer instant as of 5.16.

It's hard to notice

imo it wouldn't be too terrible if there was some sort of "sweet spot" in his wave of destruction; some way that we can make it feel strong for mord while being fair for his enemies

Honestly what I could see in my Minds eye from the get go was a Cone of shrapnel shooting forth from Mordes hand and moving outwards at a ever increasing speed. Like a slow riven ult but builds speed as it moves. Counterplay is if you know what to look for you can move to avoid it

I would actually like to see it being an inverse cone; if the instant-damage-field has to go, making it start from the edge moving inwards would give you counterplay to avoid it because it's narrower and easier to dodge, but you'll take more damage if you fail to as the metal collapses into a tighter space.

See this is exactly what we need more of ideas like this.

Alternatively my thoughts on E to introduce counter play. Have it start at mordes hand and shot outwards starting slow and increasing in speed as you go. Almost like a riven ult. But riot can always tinker with the speed if they needed to micronerf or microbuff

Because Q is way harder to use and has way more counterplay than his E. His E literally has no counterplay other than "don't be in the cone ever". There's a reason old Morde maxed E; it's basically unavoidable ranged damage that's also AOE, allowing you to push super easily and quickly while also harassing your opponent.

Yes and that's why the delay is a good thing. The max range hits with it are unreliable at best now. Worst thing is Even if you hit them. It does so little damage you might as well Just hit the wave for shield

Mordekaiser is in a weird spot right now. He has a whole bunch of random crap forced into his kit so that he isn't useless and his identity right now is basically don't let him get 3 hits off on you, or you'll die.

His base damage on E is a joke. It's just an ability to gain shield currently it has no oomph. Even building ap it always feels a rank or 2 lower than it is
