A team is not as strong as its best player, but it is as weak as its worst

Time to roll back the clock to a time when one bad player couldn't snowball an entire team into a 20 minute stomp.

  1. Reduce damage across the board
  2. Mitigate gold from repeated kills on the same person
  3. Increase passive gold gain
  4. Strengthen turrets

This is not a debate about the merits of a team game. I'm only tired of that one bad person ruining a game for 9 other people.

I've played from bronze 5 all the way up to plat 5 (played in p3 mmr) and i can tell you that this is generally not the case until plat. Even then its not that black and white.

You sound mad that you had a baddie on your team last game and you suck too much to carry them.

That's a rude assumption

Carrying is a myth. It may have been true long ago, but it is no more. One person cannot beat an entire fed team. If they did, then they had no business in that game anyway, which is a matchmaking problem.

Obviously one person cant beat an entire fed team, but one person can beat an entire "normal" team.

But he's already mentioned that the team isn't "normal" because the deadweight fed them.

I don't like to characterize people as bad players. It's not really a fair assumption to make most of the time. Many people just have bad games. Truly bad players aren't going to get matched up with you if you aren't in the same place as them. I do agree about the stomping in games recently. I really hate that dynamic.

  1. LARGE THumBS UP.
  2. this is already a thing!
  3. Riot would only do this if gold gained from kills was lessened. This could create less of a focus on farming and be a large buff to the equalization of roles, which would have a controversial effect on the meta. I haven't seen it for myself, but other people might not like that vision. You might see some people argue against this one.
  4. They did buff them recently, but. Not really in the way I think they should have.

Technically it only ruins the game for 4 others the 5 of the enemy team will honor that guy and go laughing all the way to the LP bank

Speaking from personal experience, stomps are not fun for other team. I don't want a 30-1, 20:00 minute game. I want it to be like 25-24 at the 35 minute mark. You can't do that with dead weight-- and when I say that, know that I mean someone who is not contributing at all. This is not an indictment of someone with a poor score who is actually making themselves useful through other means.

So you wouldn't be happy for a free win in a ranked game?

Of course not.

It's not a test of skill if it's free. That's like asking if I like it when the enemy has an AFK. Of course not. I don't play this game for hollow victories.
