Quick analysis of the different ELOs from Diamond perspective
Long story short my friends convinced me that it was fun to smurf in bronze-gold blah blah blah read the whole thing here:
Things to know, I'm currently a Diamond 4 player and I've been leveling up this smurf. Along my way I've encountered people from all different ELOs and I wanted to give my impressions of the different tiers.
Disclaimer: Although I'm "high" ELO, I'm not HIGH ELO. Master/Challenger and even high Diamond could call me shit and they would be right. This is just my 2 cents.
These are generalizations. That does not mean 100%. I'm also going to be brutally honest, so take it or leave it
Bronze is just straight up bad, I'm sorry. Bad mechanics, zero clue how to play a lane, terrible at farming, and absolutely zero map awareness and macro knowledge. They also have no clue of threat levels. For example, I can be 3/0 in lane and up 30 CS and they'll just walk right into range of me to list hit one minion and die again. They also rage so hard and flame a shit ton. Like...... A LOT. They'll go 0/4 in lane then spend the rest of the game flaming their jungler in all-chat instead of realizing it was completely their fault. I honestly thought Plat was the most toxic tier, but honestly Bronze gives them a run for their money. More about that later.
Silver is pretty much the same except slightly less mistakes. Sorry if that offends you, but I'm just calling it as I see it. To me, anyway, there wasnt a noticeable difference between Silver and Bronze. The only difference is they make slightly less mistakes I guess.
Gold is where people have somewhat of a clue but still make a ton of mistakes. I wouldn't say "good" by any means, but noticeably better than bronze at least. Some people here can have somewhat decent mechanics, but constantly bite off more than they can chew. They lack experience which is apparent when they don't know how to play lane match-ups. However, they grasp that walking into the fed enemy's face to get one CS isn't a good idea. lots of things are poor, but better than the previous tiers. Honestly I think this is where people just start playing the game, even though they aren't good at it yet. The previous tiers are clown fiestas more or less and are straight up Team Death Match. Gold is kind of a menagerie of "meh" across the board. People have some clue of rotations, some clue of macro, some mechanics, and wont pick every single fight that they can. Also, it seems like the most chill division. I met more cool players that were Gold than any other division. More people here are willing to accept that they're bad and need to make improvements. Kuddos.
Plat is filled with cocky mofos that tilt off the face of the earth for the smallest reasons. I'm not one of those diamond elitists that thinks I'm that much better than a plat 1 player, but i did manage to carry myself out of the hell hole that is diamond 5 as a solo player. This tier is extremely toxic. That being said, they are better players than Gold. Some Plat players can have decent mechanics but are way too cocky. Then they tilt the second something didn't go their way then play like shit the rest of the game. There will be rotations and macro play to a degree at this level.
I don't think I'm qualified to speak about Diamond. It would be about as accurate and biased as you talking about your own division. Although I did climb out of D5, I'm not going to be that guy who thinks I'm way better than it. Diamond 1 and up players are flat out much better than me. Thats about it.
Oh, there also is another type of player common across low ELO and that is the "win lane, lose game" player. They'll go 5/0 in lane but then they're completely useless the rest of the game. They think they're unkillable because they're fed and end up dying over and over. Quickly going from 5/0 to 6/5. Or they'll win lane and just never leave it instead of roaming or showing up for objectives. These are the ones who rage the hardest as well
Well that wraps up my opinion. I'll probably be leveling this account to 30 since it's so close, then not play it for awhile. I really dont want to acclimate myself to low ELO right before season 7 starts. I could give you tips, but they've already been offered in hundreds of other posts and youtube videos. I guess the best piece of advice I can give you is that you need to start being honest with yourself when you make mistakes and not blame other people. That and you need to practice, practice, practice.
