So that if a large monster or even all monsters hit by the outer blade they take 50% more damage, sort of like champions?
I don't see how this would make him strong by any means, just lets him farm harder.

just max w instead of q and make use of its auto attack reset. i think his problem is less mana or ability to clear, but more that his ganks are not great.

Maxing W as Darius is a terrible idea when most of your damage is from your Q...
but its not. at least at early levels it will deal more damage. his q has a 9 second cd at rank 1. and since the cooldown on his w is reduced for every bleed stack, its an auto attack reset and it scales with toal ad, hes going to get more out of it. plus, the attack speed slow means he takes less damage from a monster himself.
you auto attack a monster 2 or 3 times and then start spamming w. you only spam the q to apply bleed stacks and kill the small monsters while youre busy with the big guy.
