Cant do anything with them in crafting besides combine. If there's no intent to use frags for anything besides key generation having them automatically combine would be a nice streamlining touch .Also Bulk shard disenchanting would good. Lets get people outta the client and into games faster.

Back on topic, personally I think crafting as a whole still has several areas for ease of use and small improvements can be made. Smoother methods for disenchanting (events and shards), Keys auto building, and reworking the champion shard rental system to encourage it to be used are a few I would look at. I think loss income from Chest RP purchases be minute and if we saw shard rentals becoming useful it might generate more RP champion sales.

The key system is a psychological tool (very similar to app store ones) that's designed to motivate people to buy chests. They have a choice between making money and not being annoying. They're going with making money. There's no need to moralize over it; it's just the self-evident reality of the situation.
