Why should I get punished for going AFK?
1 thing League competitors have over League of Legends is that you can quit playing whenever you want. The only consequence you will suffer is the reduced personal rating. Which to me seems fair.
If you - yourself vow to NEVER go afk that puts you at a significant advantage, because there's 4 possible afkers in your team and 5 on the enemy.
"But it ruins the game for 4 other players" , many, many things ruin the game for different type of people. Someone's game is ruined when support takes his CS, someone's game's ruined when support doesn't ward, someone's game is ruined when jungler doesn't gank etc etc , plenty of these things are unpunishable nor should they be punishable, so why is leaving the game ?
Instead, I am being forced to play a game I deem ruined by other players for indefinite amount of time, all the while having to "enjoy" their presence. It really makes me not wanna play League at all. I want to give up and move over to the next game, not necessarily because I think we can't win, rather, it's not worth trying to win in the current circumstances.
I won't give you an example of my last game that lead me to writing this, but I'm sure you guys have ALL had those types of games if you are competitive at all.
If you are playing for fun only then why do you care if someone on your team goes AFK?
Not punishing people for going AFK would reduce the toxicity, intentional feeding, griefing. Why do any of those when I can just leave instead of being held hostage?
