I found the secret to climbing out of bronze.

Lead your team, that's what I'm doing to climb right now and it's working. Make good calls for your team, If a minions wave is getting pushed too close to a turret, clear it or send someone else to do it. If a player isn't going to be in a team fight whether he's in the jungle jungling, dead, or doing something he shouldn't be doing, tell them to back off when the odds are against them: Not many players can win 3 vs 5's unless they're 10 kills ahead. Encouraging your team to start warding once team fights break loose is also a good idea even though it's the least likely scenario that could happen.

Of course, you have to "win" your team over before they'll listen to you. Get a killstreak, help roam and win their lane for them( particularly bot or mid depending on your role), or do anything that your team would find remarkably impressive like soloing baron, jk jk.

Also, don't pick support. I don't care if there are players that carried to gold playing support. If your ADC is garbage you don't have many options left to your disposal. Most of my games were won by helping bad ADC's win their lanes, something I couldn't do as a support champion.
