I don't play Aatrox but..

Have Riot destroyed his identity? First they made him a rip-off of Riven and then they take away his self-rez, the one unique thing about him. I really feel for people that took time and effort into him. It feels like they have been shown the middle finger. His rework was horrible, I don't think they beta tested it at all and now he's having his main identifying ability ripped from him.

Would it not be better to pull a Leblanc, admit that they screwed him up and revert him back to classic Aatrox?

Riot still have copies of original champions, even if they claim they don't. No company in the world doesn't keep backups so that was a straight out lie when they claimed they don't have the original champion's kit or design.

To be honest, there are a few champions that could benefit from being returned to their pre-rework state. For me, Taric. I used to play him in top a lot and now he's horrible. Completely destroyed his identity and gutted his point and click stun which hard countered assassins.

No. He was always supposed to be a Drain Tank and that is still preserved. His Revive was a gimmick, that's it. I am glad to have it removed (and before you go REEEE u dont play aatrox! I had over 400k on old Aatrox)

Its really the one thing about him that I remember, without it, he's just a worth and less Favorited Riven. I don't play him myself but I feel sorry for those that do.

But you see yourself, you are just a bystander. I play him a lot, he is still the old Aatrox, but now with actuall skill expression. Revive was what everyone around you saw, you saw the 1v9 Drain Tank that he still is. Whoever calls him Riven 2.0 should really play both of them a bit.

Yeah no he is not the same. Honestly having played and mained a drastically changed champion (Swain) it’s ok to get a different kit while still having the essence of the original.

What I remembered from Aatrox was he would heal a ton and never die. New Aatrox heals a ton and never dies. He has a dash like old Aatrox, has a knock up and has a skill shot slow. Old Aatrox had heal, knock up, dash, skill shot slow. Yes he plays different but the essence is still there.

Why are people still comapring to riven? His q is much different. Just because its three swings with knock ups doesn't mean it's riven.

His W is different, his E is different, his Passive is different, his Ult is different. But hurr durr Riven 2.0 hurr durr.

Okay hit taric was utterly useless back then, boring to play, and too simple. Literally became a joke. As for aatrox, the revive was the last close thing to old aatrox but it isn't iconic to him. There's other revives in the game.

Taric had a point and click stun and was not "boring" to people like me who prefer safety and utility over balls-out offence. His loss made him a lot less reliable to counter assassins which he could do with his stun.

Well point click cc is unhwalthy for the game. Riot is slowly removing it. Tarics, gone. Pantheons soon gone. Fiddles soon gone. See where I'm getting at here? We're moving past point click cc. It's unfun, unhealthy. Basic p/c cc for empowered auto attacks will be it. Not to mention he's better at countering assasins now? Invulnerability before the fight, a shield and a heal and a stun. What did the old one have? Like one stun that would get stopped by a nights veil? Yeah.

Its not unhealthy, its just a hard counter to assassins who already have the best damage and mobility in the game.

Did you read what i said? It's not even a hard counter.

his final moments of having an identity were ripped from him when they removed his revive in patch 9.14 :(

Honestly, he's fine. He is retaining the identity that most people picked him up for, which is being a drain tank who relies on dealing phat damage.

Now, would I prefer a version that is aa based, yes, but that doesn't stop the current version from being fun, and having a ton of skill expression
