- how long does the shield last?
- Would casting a new spell break the old shield or add on to it.
- how would you prevent breaking champs like skarner, who would cast 20 shields in under 30 seconds?
I'd be more concerned about DoT. With 500 HP and a shield like that, it's practically made for battle mages.
I would have to imagine a Hard max to the shields. But if a DPS mage kept applying them, they are going to be tanky regardless.
Moonfall Saber1 votesThe shield would last 3 seconds. Casting a new spell would add to it. It would essentially be a lifesteal equivilent for battle mages. You wouldnt build this on lux. More like 
ect. It wouldnt be effective on pure tanks though because their damage would not be high enough to make a valuable shield.
Example: 500 damage would give a shield for 50 which isnt that high at all and 500 damage is hard to achive without

There is currently no item in the game that is specifically for battle mages so I think this could fill that niche without being broken.

That said, I guess if it isn't implemented yet, it's because RIOT thinks it's a bad idea. But they implemented Night's Veil and Camille and Taliyah's brows... So yea, maybe one day!

Moonfall Saber2 votesMorde is a Juggernaut. Just stay away from him and he's useless. Plus morde shield is much larger than you can get from this item. Mages have very little defensive options as it is.

Morde's defense relies on his offense, because of the shield transfer. If Mordekaiser is fed as fuck, he not only does a shit ton of damage but also will shield for a shit ton. It makes him quite feast or famine.
Mages could use more defensive options, but this would be incredibly cancerous. It would make champions snowbally as shit.
Moonfall Saber1 votesAgain if you play a melee champion into any Juvgernaut your going to get feasted on. Darius builds health and his q heals him for more. If morde was as op as you say then why does he have less than a 1% play rate. I understand your afraid that this item would break mages but why would a lux build this item. It has less ap than other mage items and is made more for Diana or elise. Those are going to be the champions that build this item.
Also it's not like your going to get a shielded for 500 damage. You would have to deal 5000 damage in less than 3 seconds to get a shield that big. Not even veigar can do that.

Yeah but it makes snowballing champions EVEN more snowbally. Oh you're going to group so the fed Diana can't pick you off one at a time. You thought you could peel and focus her in a skirmish or team fight? Well it doesn't matter because she is both tankier and burstier due to how fed she is.
This item offers too much. Its useless when behind because the defense scales off your lacking damage. But its OP af when your ahead because the defense scales off your superb damage. How is it not snowbally af?
You thought killing a fed Vlad, Swain, Mundo, Lissandra, Nautillus, or Zac was hard? Now their going to drain tank you even harder, AND they get more defense the more offense they buy.
