Is he going to have a champion spotlight to tell us how the new Ryze works? Or are the changes not extreme enough?

The changes are extreme enough. He feels incredibly weak compared to his older version.

What makes you think so? I thought the change was buffing him because of the passive stack thingy, and the R buff.

The way his passive works you have to time the stacks just right in order to activiate and have a decent trade ( no more good trades). Its 4 spells within 10 sec of each other and if you dont have ult then you are stuck waiting for the cooldown of your q,w, or e on that 4th stack. Once passive activates youre fine. The ult or R is same just adds cdr now which is good if youre ahead. But if you fall behind good luck catching back up...

Honestly the changes took Ryze from a useful counter pick... to just another useless poke nuker with low mobility.

Ryze was useful to counter mobility champs like Ahri and Fizz. Now might as well just play Nida, who has better damage, range, mobility, and sustain.

The only use he has now is "maybe" as an AD mid counter....and even his ability to do that has been lessened by lowering his mana ratios, making frozen heart less useful. Frankly Ryze died back when banshee veil had it's mana removed, and has never recovered. These changes make him no more useful, and manage to make him less unique to boot.

I've heard (not from reds) that he's getting a new model and new animations, and they're probably waiting on that to show him off in a spotlight.

After playing him for a while he feels weak. Even against AD tops, and I've run the gauntlet, he just doesnt do enough damage. His waveclear seems to suck and I dont get why with his spells. He just seems really weak.
