no, thats an actual thing. duskblade is pretty crazy in general but for garen it turns his q into a 900 damage hit with an otherwise beefy build. if you land that on a squishy villain, you often can straight up finish him off with a spin + ult before the silence runs out.
when youre ahead, you can in many cases just follow the q with an auto attack + ult and even save the spin.
plus the stats synergize otherwise well with his kit. lethality to add some armor pen, ad and cdr.
you get 
and 
(for added burst against really squishy teams) or 
the real great thing about it is that you can get back to old school bush garen tactics, since the thing automatically tells you when you move over a ward. its really good on him.
overall, it just makes you feel like you really scale. youre able to take fights lategame that were much more difficult before.

was off by a 100 damage too. if you add the dead mans proc on top of the q, it deals about 1k damage before resistances at lvl 18 with the duskblade.
youre actually a really fucking danger to enemy squishies with that build and i love it. taking out assassins, mages and adc who split from their team works incredibly well.
if youre ahead in lane and can afford to rush it, your roams into other lanes will also become quite dangerous.
into rush might become core for me in games that i get ahead.

i liked it a lot more when it had attack speed on the active and critical strike.
i still occationally get it, but not nearly as much as i used to since the lethality changes.
dead mans plate kinda filled the slot for a movement speed item for me.

I don't see him to build GB at every games... therefore it's situational... anyhow still wasteful item on Garen.
Conclusion GB is for close-gap assassin.
PS... RM is slightly better than MR but nothing is special.

i wouldnt be surprised if they put an ad ratio on the passive. but even then it might barely make a difference. you can get almost 4k health and decent resistances with a duskblade on garen and still get close to 300 ad.
i was at 280 without red pot and infernal drakes or baron.
is it too powerful in general? probably yes. is it too powerful on garen? i dont think so. it actually allows him to do his job and take down squishy carries more reliably when he manages to catch them out.

Depends on the kind of ad ratio.
You can make it bonus instead of total and garen's high base ad and steraks wont mean shit, meaning you DO have to sacrifice a ton of tank to get a meaningful dblade proc

i dont think so. duskblade overall is really damn strong this patch.
and garen in specific has decent synergy with the item. almost every game has these moments, where there are opportunities to catch out opponents who are split from their team.
this includes games around plat to diamond. finding these picks can make a game. garens playstile at higher ratings in general revolves around finding picks and capitalizing on them. duskblade is really good at supporting that playstile.
if you ever watch marinerevenge's stream, youll see that this is exactly what he does. he tries to come out strong of the lane phase and then looks to pick off isolated enemies around midgame.
he already said this in the past. he has learned to get one or two of the classical garen bush ganks every game. just placing yourself in a bush thats in the path of an enemy champion who tries to rotate around the map, and then jump him and blow him up when he walks in range.
usually this means switching to 
however duskblade allows you to keep 
while bypassing wards, which additonally helps in these situations.
plus, it adds a fuckton of frontloaded burst.

Sire Hippington1 votesThrow in a trinity for another ~260 damage on that Q, now add a Deadmen'S for another 100 and a titanic for ~400 and you got your self nearly 1k extra burst damage just from item effects. Why exactly was DFG removed again when the current itemisation adds stupid levels of burst with their effects. Similar witth AP, Gunblade+lichbane+ludens and you get 350+75%base ad+0.9, that's nearly an ult worth of extra damage

In order to get ik damage from dfg vs a 2k hp target, you'd need to deal 3500 raw damage yourself, whch probably would kill the target without the dfg anyway. Also, those items i listed synergies well with each other outside of the burst effects aswell while all increaseing tankiness, so getting them is not a horrible idea even without the burst.

It needs to be lower than a normal crit ratio because its aoe damage... it still absolutely melts anyone and anything it touches because it ticks so fast and has a disgusting total ad ratio. if garens E could crit for the full 2.5 it would broken beyond belief. It kills anything bar a full tank before the need to ult execute even arises currently so with full crit ratios? i don't even wanna think about it lol
JackMcSnipeyz1 votesDuskblade is core on every champ, heck i've seen gragas build it one game along with his usual tank build and just body slam out of a bush and 1 shot any squishy aswell as slow them if by any chance they survived. The item idea is okay, but it's overtuned and at least needs a ratio on it's passive, having a full tank J4 jump on you and one shot you because he has duskblade is not fun at all
