My Problem With Finding a Main/Main Role

I've heard a lot of people saying stuff like "You can only have a champ pool composed of 3 champions if you want to get better at the game and climb." and I've also heard that one-tricking is probably the best way to climb and improve. Ever since I've started this game I've been searching for a main for me to be able to play so that I can climb but I've never been able to really commit to a champion or even a role that I wanted to main and stick to it. I get bored of playing the same champion of the same kind of champion for too long. I think a part of the problem is the amount of different classes that I like to play are in completely different lanes. Some of the champions that I really like to play: Juggernauts:Illaoi Yorick Urgot Nasus Mordekaiser(I pretty much play these guys toplane except morde who I only play bot really) Skirmishers:Yasuo (I suck dick on him so I probably won't be playing him that much outside of norms or something) Gangplank (kinda) Kled (also kinda) Battlemages:Karthus Gangplank Ryze (He used to be one of my favorite champions but after his rework and nerfs he feels so bad to play. I'm still waiting for buffs before I pick this guy up again) Swain (I don't play swain rn but I'll probably play him if his rework is good.) (I only like these champs mid.) Jungle Assassins: Rengar Kayn (both forms) Khazix (I'm pretty bad on him but it's whatever he's still fun when I'm doing well.)

I know a lot of people say that you don't find your main, your main finds you. Well I don't really work that way and that's true not only for league but for any game I play. In smash 4 I try to main Mario but I constantly find my self switching between different characters even in that game too. Idk what I should do because I want to climb ranked (I don't play much rn but in the few games that I do play I end up doing extremely well usually.) but I can't settle on a champ pool because whenever I do a few weeks later I feel an extreme urge to play a different champion instead.

You really have to experiment with what you like to do in your games with different champions. I've found out I really liked twitch when I played as him in some of my games in ARAM. I suggest that you should play a bunch of aram games with the champs you have in your champion pool (including free week champs).

So my only solution for you is to pick 2 roles and 3 champions for that role. If you get sick of one champion switch to one of the other 2 or switch roles completely and pick from that pool. If you get bored of those champions then play normals and play some other champion. Once you don't feel the need to switch champions anymore then go back to ranked and keep grinding the same champ pool.

Back in my day, 1 tricks called MID OR FEED and this was frowned upon. Pick order and no role selection made it so the expectation was all players who where serious about climbing needed to have something for every position. I encourage everybody to play each champion 10-20 times regardless of if you like them or their kit (for clarity, not In ranked)

Sounds like you don’t have the patience to to stick to a couple champions. That’s fine but don’t complain that you’re not climbing. What’s the issue?
