To be fair, "unranked" could mean anything from Cardboard 11 to Master tier. The likelyhood of all those unranks being that high is unlikely, but possible. Either way, RIP you my friend.

There is no match making in normal games. It is the worst thing ever. This is why I just play ranked. I don't really care about my rank, but I know Riot at least matches by tier rather than just throwing 10 completely random players together.

Your example above is not limited to just new players. That scenario happens across all of normal mode. watching a premade of 4 diamond players queue solo Q and get matched with another 4 man premade of bronze players. Yeah this is the game Riot has made.

The match making system is exactly the same between normals and ranked. The only difference is that your MMR is tracked separately for each queue. Your tier in ranked has nothing to do with match making, it is only tangentially related because your MMR in ranked will cause your LP gains and losses to gravitate you towards a certain league and division.

Yes your tier has everything to do with your MMR. The as you pointed out are connected and they certainly represent at some degree of error your experience and or individual skill.

Um unless you can provide any proof that the match making systems are the same and that we just have different MMR ratings for the different queues I am going to have to get out my bullshit horn. Otherwise the scenario in my example or the OP's example _would never exist. _ To think there is matchmaking in normals is hilarious! You are absolutely right. My team of bronze and silver players are just as skilled and have won just as many games as 3 diamond players.
