Is a 2-5 minute grace period in loading screen that is given to a summoner who doesn't connect . and IF that person doesn't connect after the grace period ends all players get sent back to the searching for game screen and the player gets hit with the same lp loss they would get if they left a que. I mean honestly why should a game start if all the players aren't connected and ready to go?

Never going to happen but one can hope. I see a whole new method for trolls to exploit with this. I'm still upvoting though

Yes please. I hate how my game counts as a loss, which hurts my LP (and everyone else's on my team) because someone didn't bother connecting at all. When this happens, people should be sent back to save them grace. Or maybe, play the game- but the losing team doesn't get a harsh penalty of LP loss when an afk is present from the start. Seriously, please consider Riot.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has a 5 minute grace period before the match starts, for all players to connect. During this time you can deathmatch and stuff, with unconnected players being controlled by bots. The game disbands if someone doesn't connect, and you get a bit of quick practice before an actual game starts, which is nice.

That's fine, until you wait 5 minutes in a load screen just to go back to square 1. Then you'll be mad that you waited 5 minutes for nothing, at which point everyone will want it taken away.

There's actually a pretty long grace period in some cases... seems the program isn't that sophisticated, but I have definitely waited on the load screen for at least 3 mins before while the other team's garen reconnected oh so slowly.

Wait what? You want us to wait 5 minutes for a player to connect?

Is this actually getting upvoted?

maybe not 5 minutes, but maybe the game should pause if someone doesnt load in for a couple minutes, and then do as said above. but no more than 2 minutes.

or maybe add in loss prevention for people who get afks (or disconnect) or trolls and immediately penalize the people who afk and troll

But then this would mean it would take EVEN LONGER just to find a game, right? Because now everyone has to sit and wait for the either troll or family emergency person to connect so that when they don't, everyone has to go back to the lobby and start the process again. But I guess one can't have their cake and eat it too.

I think the easiest method would be for there to be a way to prevent an lp loss if there is an afk. But, a problem is that sometimes the person reconnects randomly throughout the game, and the system probably wouldn't take that as an afk though he is. So idk :o
