He is honestly one of the most frustrating champs to play against, yet he get's picked every other game because his kit is hella strong...So what do you guys usually do to beat him? Because it seem's everything I try is wrong

Need ingage? Use Hook. Need more? Buy item 3069 or item 3800 or BOTH!

Taking too much damage? Flaw away. Not enough? Defensive hook. Not enough? Lantern has a sheild. Not enough? Use item 3069 or item 3401

Not doing enough damage? Your "ranged" auto attacks will deal a ton of damage! You will also get free AP to do more damage on your spells that are already have high damage for a support!

Still taking too much damage? You get free armor with your ap souls too.

Need a gank? Lantern

Team mate dying? Lantern

Need vision now? Lantern

Too risky to get souls? Lantern

Hooked your enemy but its likely they can dash away? Press R and watch as they arent able to run away at all!

Thresh has fucking everything the kit and tools for any situation. Honestly no reason not to play him other that you can't heal like nami or soraka

I've been sick of him since his release. This isn't anything new. He's always been broken.

They need to level the playing field tbh. Bard didn't change anything, nor do I think Tahm Kench will...

If you have good reflexes with a spell shield, Morgana is good. I usually play Braum into hook champions since I'm usually tanky enough to eat a hook and hop back to safety. Pay attention to when they're throwing a hook, since it can be fairly easy to read most of the time. A good way to learn to dodge a certain champion's skill shots is to play the champion yourself, so you know when you would throw the skill shot and what to look out for when you're against them. Theoretically, poke champs beat hard engage since you can poke them down so they're too weak to engage, but that depends on your level of comfort on the champion. If your good at Zyra or something you might be able to out harass and can also use plants as a shield, but I wouldn't recommend this unless your really comfortable on Zyra, since she's very squishy and is pretty much dead if you make a mistake. You can also try Leona or Alistar, since they're tanky enough to take a hook, and the hook helps you out a bit by bringing you closer to hard engage on the enemy (this is a better strategy vs Blitz, but still applies to some degree)

Thresh is the living definition of a good support. He does great stuff, but can't really carry like other "supports" aka second mid laners like Annie

poke supports are your best friend

His lockdown is a bit BS, once your hooked you are literally hooked and he can keep you in his control for a long time.

In lane against him, I find ignoring him if he ever manages to get you and going for the ADC to be the best, ensure your support does the same, because once he uses up his abilities all he can do is smack you while other supports are pretty decent at CC as well, just a timing matter, practice really.

I get out the Ban Hammer.

at least he has counterplay. i prefer being a support against thresh than a midlaner against leblanc.

ShaftyMegee6/29/2015, 12:56:14 AM1 votes

It honestly depends on the threah. I find very aggressive threshs hard to play against (if I'm naut I don't care), and the passive threshes pretty easy

am i the only guy who literately cant play thresh?

im awful with that champ

It's hard to say how to counter thresh when thresh tends to play different based on who he is with, but here are some general tips. Overall I'd say dodge his hook (which has a long wind-up and gives you time to duck behind minions) and punish him when he tries to poke you with his flay. Thresh's flay gives him some poke, but it doesn't add that much damage and since he doesn't have much innate tankiness or sustain poking him back harder will stop him from doing that pretty quickly. His lantern can be stood on in order to prevent his adc from clicking on it, and although not super widely known being slienced prevents you from clicking it, so having Soraka put her silence zone on top of the lantern makes it a lot harder to use.

Lulu Morgana that's what I do.

he has low starting armor so poking him down usually works...
