@riotrickless From a 300+ ranked games Karma main, thank you

I wanted to thank you for addressing a serious issue with my favorite champion and not letting her slowly die away/be ignored.

I also wanted to thank you for posting multiple iterations of the Karma mini-rework and listening to the community. The fact you have done this tells me you truly want what is best for Karma. Each iteration has gotten successively better. I felt a bit uncertain about the first one, a bit better about the second, now with the third one, I feel quite good about it, and here's why:

I play Karma both mid/top and as a support and sometimes jungle. However, I mostly play her mid/top now because yes, she is not the best support at the moment. She lacks the utility or scaling of other mage supports like Janna or Sona .

The changes to her R-W and R-E on the PBE are better than people realize. Her R-W STILL has its heal, and now roots for longer. It was always a bait type skill; you never use R-W for the bonus dmg except in rare circumstances or early game. Now you will bait even harder with the heal and longer root.

I'm not sure people realize how enormous the new AOE shield on her R-E actually is...but I'm really excited for it. I hope the duration lasts slightly longer, though. The loss of damage is more or less offset by the buff to her passive, which will help her in other ways late game.

With regard to solo lane Karma, I am LOVING the buff to the AP ratio on her W (from 0.6 to 0.9) because this means solo lane Karma will be left more or less unaffected.

The main thing solo lane Karma loses with these changes is the additional wave clear from R-E (which not many people even know about or use). She can still wave clear fine with her Q and R-Q. However, her main combo, Q-W-RQ now has been buffed by 0.3 AP scaling which is fairly significant.

To anyone else reading this, please take a moment to read the details of the changes and think about their impact before complaining. It's not perfect; but the Karma we know right now isn't perfect either! (If the Karma we knew was the one rickless is suggesting, and the Karma we have was the proposed change, people would still complain).

Thanks rickless for helping out Karma and keep up the good work.

can we revert the changes and give us back the old karma instead?

Or release old Karma as a separate champion.

In all seriousness though, I'm tired of every discussion about Karma going back to old Karma. I want the current Karma to be the best she can be, and the current changes seem a step in the right direction.

Getting real tired of people saying release the old one as a new champion because guess what; not only is it not gonna happen but also said new champion would just get reworked again

Honestly it's a nice way of saying "it's not going to happen."

Old Karma had a lot of issues with her, people look back with rose-tinted glasses. Objectively, current Karma is a stronger champion, and most people, including myself, find her more fun to play.

Uracle1 votes

You're much kinder then I am, good sir or madam. I've just gotten jaded over the years. People paid alot for them glasses and won't accept that they're broken

No, she wouldn't be reworked. She'd get a VU and some QoL changes. Mind some number changes she'd stay the same.

Uracle1 votes

Except there is no QoL things to add....cuz the kit isn't good enough for that. Itso, fatso.

Then keep on praising, Riot fanboy.

Uracle1 votes

I'm a Riot fan boy because I'm not apart of the Old Karma fan club...Okay. if that's all you have to offer as a rebuttal then there's not much more to talk about.

LOL. "Keep on praising" Wasn't even praising anything to begin with. :D

I said that because there is no reason to continue such "discusion".

PS. When you use latin phrases at least spell them correctly. It's "Ipso facto".

Uracle1 votes

Whatever you say. Latin is easy but English is hard especially with discussions. I mean "discusions"

Exactly, anyone who plays Karma knows that you never really used that damage from the shield but mainly for the AoE shield haste. Even then the damage was negligible to say the least. The ap ratio buff to W is appreciated as I always max QE and that left the damage from W rather lacking not I used for the damage anyways, it's all about that root.

Sugar Momma1 votes

There isn't much incentive to max W in solo lane or support; and I'm glad riot is not changing that. However, I do sometimes take an extra point or two in W when I solo lane as Karma (I usually start getting points in my shield when teamfights break out mid-game).

With her R-E the damage was negligible until late game, but its main purpose was really for wave clear on solo lane Karma.

I really like the 3rd iteration that you mentioned above.

It's definitely an improvement from live as a whole, especially for support Karma!
